About Me

Who is Shannon D. Denniston?
I'm a lifelong resident of Mount Sterling, Kentucky and alumni of Morehead State University located in Morehead, Kentucky . I own several businesses both on the Internet and offline. I have a passion for the Internet and desire for improving society with a focus on efficiency. The Internet can be the best educator of our children and our environment will be better off when we work from home and commute/pollute less. It's time for us to work smarter and invest more in wireless technologies (electricity & broadband) and solar energy instead of playing battle ship for the oil outside our borders. We have everything we need right here in our own country to do what we need done and make everyone happier. Oh, did I mention we could also save a lot of money in the process? We should love our fellow countries and not try to dictate to them how to live. Let them run their government, we have enough problems trying to keep our own honest and afloat financially. They will ask for help when they need it and if someone trys to bully them then we need to squash them like an ant, plain and simple. Improving the life of our planet is also important so please don't litter along the way.
Margaritas on the beach anyone?
Let's see, what's new with me? Well, I am actively looking for oceanfront real estate in the Florida panhandle area (Navarre Beach, Seaside, Destin) for the construction of an oceanfront home. Not as my primary home but a second home. Something about lounging on the beach in boxers and flip-flops with my laptop while its snowing back in Kentucky sounds like the perfect work environment for me. I'm also jazzed about getting to construct a permanent beachside fire pit where I can relax with my family and watch the beautiful sunsets while something alternative plays in the background. By the way, there are a couple pictures of the fire pit I envision in my MySpace picture gallery .
Support Original Music!
I hope you enjoy my musical selection while you are visiting me on MySpace, it should be playing right now, if it's not then scroll down the page to find it and then tap your monitor to see if that fixes it. I'm an opinionated person and sometimes my music reflects this. I love music and travel a lot just to hear un-discovered talent playing original music. In fact, I love music so much that I spent nearly all of 2007 organizing a 4 Day Music Festival which I hosted September 27th - 30th in my hometown. It offered 4 fun filled days under the sun and stars with MySpacers from around the globe. It was Kentucky's LARGEST eclectic music festival EVER with 71 bands performing amongst 3 stages. You can check out the 160+ pictures in my MySpace photo album!
Live and Learn: How You Should Have Made $1,000,000 Using Someone Else's Money
Now back to my world travels... Navarre Beach, the sand is as white as snow and as beautiful as it gets without traveling farther south to the Carribean. Another reason I like Navarre Beach so much is that you usually have the entire beach to yourself wherever you go on the island because the area is virtually unknown to most vacationers. Look for it to blossum into a popular tourist spot over the next decade. In Destin, just 30 minutes away, real estate prices are increasing 27% PER YEAR. What this means is that you could have bought a million dollar home there in 2002 and sold it today for a million dollar profit after paying off the mortgage. So, ANYONE (with a decent credit score) could have made themselves $1,000,000.00 free and clear in less than 4 years using someone else's money IF they had the foresight to have invested there just a few years ago.

My favorite international place to visit (so far) is St. Maarten, a little island down in the Carribean. The French side is the most fun but it's such a small island that you might as well take in the Dutch side too while you are there. You can rent a Jeep there for $30 for the entire day and a 6-pack of Corona on ice beachside is only $6. There's a tranquil un-inhabited island just off the coast, accessible by jet-ski or boat, if you find the locals to be too friendly; the last time I was down there this guy tried to pimp his wife out to me, you should have seen my wife's jaw hit the sand (she was standing right beside me). Oh what memories come to mind when you think of special places you've been. If you have the opportunity to go there then definitely go, afterall I am sure you deserve it! It is one of the most beautiful tropical places you'll ever visit. I'm *currently* ranking it as a tie with Aruba, another one of my favorites.
Barbados is also relaxing, I've been there multiple times too so I suppose I should rank it up high on my list, just not as high as St. Maarten and Aruba. If you decide to visit Barbados, take in the Malibu Rum Factory tour. It's only like $10 and I promise it'll be fun, I'll just say the $10 includes a lot of stuff and you should arrange transportation to and from their factory because you probably won't be able to drive home afterwards, it's that good of a tour. Plus, at the end of the tour, there's a beach where you can relax and watch the sun set.
I refuse to live my life by a schedule so don't be alarmed if you call me at 1pm and I tell you I just woke up (or if I don't answer the phone when you call). It's common for me to find myself so immersed in what I'm doing that I lose track of what time it is. I'm VERY spontaneous. If it's Thursday and I ask you to fly out to Las Vegas with me on Friday, consider it ordinary. I've decided (and proven) that working from home for yourself is better than working somewhere you have to commute to for someone else. Think about it this way, when you work for yourself, not only do you get to write your own paycheck, you get to fill in the amount too. My morning commute is 30 steps (35 after I swing by the fridge to pickup a Mountain Dew, my breakfast in a can) and I get to work in boxers and a t-shirt. I also get to go to the bathroom when I need to instead of when someone says I can go. The BEST part about my chosen lifestyle is that I get to spend every day with my charming 3 year old and 5 month old daughters, Madison and Lauren and my beautiful wife Elizabeth. To further add to the female population in my household, I have two cats, Tigger and Lady.
If you know me already then you know I'm anything but ordinary. I didn't come from a wealthy family, my family farmed for a living. My senior year of high school, I drove a 1984 Plymouth Voyager van and I ate Ramon Noodles daily for both lunch and supper. I lost my dad prior to graduating high school, 1997 was a rough year for me, one I wouldn't wish upon anyone. In the past few years, I've paid The Man (IRS) more than some people will make in their lifetime and lost more in bad investments than I have time to share. I say this because it's sad that our government taxes us for being successful. There should be a flat rate tax so you and I are not "fined" for being successful and everyone is motivated to carry their own weight. Think about that for a minute.

I am actively looking for people who would like to engage in a more meaningful lifestyle... people who prefer happiness over sadness, peace over war and love over hate... people who are in desperate need of a lifestyle change... people who want to drive a Ferrari instead of a Ford... people who want to eat filet mignon instead of sirloin... people who want to drink top shelf instead of something from under the shelf... I think you get the picture. If this sounds like you, add me as a friend then subscribe to my free newsletter below.

My Interests

Internet marketing, philosophizing, traveling to exotic locales, eBay'ing, ATV'ing, camping, boating, philosophizing some more, helping others achieve success financially through the Internet, exotic cars specifically Ferrari's and Corvette's.

I'd like to meet:

Brooke Burke, again. ;-)

Music:

Anything Alternative. To name just a few of my favorite musical artists: Nirvana, Sublime, Incubus, Counting Crows, Jewel, Priscilla Ahn, Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Alice In Chains, Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Matthews Band, The Crystal Method, Staind, Matchbox 20, Coldplay, Bob Marley, Johnny Cash, Ice Cube, Nickelback, Violent Femmes, Weezer, Little Feat, Dee Dozier and Stitch Rivet. Oh, I also like a diverse variety of techno, indie and folk... the more upbeat the better.

Movies:

All Adam Sandler, Chris Farley and Angelina Jolie flicks. I also like MacGyver and have all episodes on DVD.

Television:

Television, you mean people still watch those now that the Internet has taken over the world? Honestly speaking, I don't watch TV, it's a waste of time IMO. TV is for people who lead boring lives. If you are an avid TV watcher then you need to ask yourself, "Why do I enjoy watching someone else's life more than living my own?" Do yourself a favor and donate your TV to Goodwill. When I do get a craving to watch TV, I enjoy watching Myth Busters, Dirty Jobs, South Park, Family Guy and My Name Is Earl.

Books:

I've never been much on reading books but I plan on making myself do it more often because I know it's good for the mind. My favorite magazine is DuPont Registry's Auto & Home publications. I also enjoy reading the Robb Report and Travel & Leisure. Ok, so I read more printed publications for pleasure instead of education. I suppose this is largely in part because I spend countless hours educating myself via electronic media (the Internet) moreso than printed media.

Heroes:

My dad, the late Jimmy "J.D." Denniston. I lost my father at the age of 17 and my life has not been the same since. Every day I wish I could go back to 1996 before his death to tell him "I love you" one more time. He is the smartest person I have ever known and I would give up everything I've accomplished just to spend one more minute with him. Dad, I love you!
