About Me

Well, my name is Chris Shutters and my life is music music music. With the music comes parties, with parties comes friends, with friends comes women, and with women comes their friends. lol just kidding (?) I began this musical journey when I was 2 years old. I have this home video of me singing "I heard it through the grape vine" and I'm wearing a little tux and sunglasses lol. It's hilarious yet a bit embarrassing at the same time, but that was the beginning of my interest. I play the lead guitar, I sing, I play the flute (It's not gay, I rock out the flute trust me lol), I started on piano and vocals and I can play the bass and drums as well. I just started pickin' up on the drums almost a year ago now and I don't think I'm doin' too bad. Anyway, I am obtaining my associates degree so I can get out to L.A. As soon as I get there I will be working at Sony Record Studios. While I am there I will be continuing school to obtain my bachelors degree. I write songs based on my life experiences and especially heartbreaks. Granted I've had 2 big heartbreaks but I've learned to deal with it and use it to my advantage in my writing. Hopefully this all pans out and ya'll dig my tunes. Remember. . . this is only the beginning.Chris Shutters

Influences: My influences happen to be my favorite artists such as: Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jethro Tull, Peter Gabriel, Cat Stevens, The Band, Led Zepplin, Dave Matthews Band, Neil Young, Metallica, Pink Floyd, CSNY, Allman Brothers Band, Alice in Chains, Gavin DeGraw and the list just goes on and on. I try to learn a little bit from each of these artists/bands listed though, some are weighted more than others.
Sounds Like: My music kinda has a bluesy sound yet a modern alternative sound as well. Some of it gets a bit strange to the point to where I don't even know how to categorize it. Pretty much whatever I hear in my head I try to put down onto a disc. I guess you'll just have to buy some cd's or dvd's!!! lol
