Over the past couple of weeks, I have attended a few functions. So, here are a couple of pictures from those events…The American African Business Women’s Association luncheon at the Washington Press Club, Congressman Steny Hoyer’ briefing immediately after his trip to Africa and the Middle East, the opening of Senator Benjamin Cardin’s Prince George’s County Office, dinner at South Kitchen in Atlanta around the corner from the Four Seasons Hotel (my favorite hotel in the whole world), and I just stuck in a picture of me recently in my office (for my friend who thinks my clothes are expensive—red/black scarf purchased in Paris last December; grey/black scarf purchased in Bucharest at Castros in the mall; Geometric print Emilio Carsucci silk tie gift from Tony my friend in South Africa; Pierre Cardin Sweater vest had a long time don’t know where I bought it; Phat Farm shorts picked up in Atlanta; Italian Silver/Gold Belt Buckle; and Bacco Bucci casual Shoes)
ANNAPOLIS NIGHT 2007On Monday the 5th, I attended the 26th District Annapolis night reception. It was entertaining and I was able to see a number of officials I had not talked with in a while. I used the opportunity to make some connections for my student interns, get Ambassador’s Day on several radar screens, and schedule a couple of meetings on specific projects. So all in all it was a good evening, the food was excellent (I particularly enjoyed the miniature crab cakes), and the DJ was Kickin’. Some of the music was a bit old for me (LOL), but it was all good. Here are a couple of pictures from that night. Pictures of me with the new Lt. Governor of the State of Maryland, The Maryland States Attorney, Councilmembers, and Senate and Congressional staff. Put the cursor over each picture to see names and titles of the individuals in the pictures.
On Thursday, March 1, 2007 I met with The Vice President of The Republic of The Gambia, West Africa. In this meeting we were joined by the Secretaries of State for Education and Agriculture, along with the Permanent Secretary from the Office of the President, The Gambian Ambassador and the Deputy Chief of Mission. Various others came in and out of the meeting during my time there.
It was a wonderful discussion that covered a wide range of industry subjects, business opportunities and options, and priority areas of particular interest to the government.
For those who are doing business internationally, or for those interested in entering the international business arena and you have an product or service related to bio-energy, agriculture (import/export, livestock, beekeeping, value added for fruits & vegetables, fertilizer production, farming equipment-including spare parts), workforce development, clean water production, information technology, communications, academic programs-higher education/science/research & technology, affordable housing development-indigenous based components, fisheries ---- Let’s talk—The Gambia should be a business destination under your consideration, and you would have the support of the highest levels of government.
Well, so much for this “short” description of the picture. LOL for the record Her Excellency Vice President Dr. Isatou Njie-Saidy is the lady in the middle between me and Jerry Ravenell, my associate and import/export guru, and he is also an adjunct professor at the University of Delaware.
My apologies for the lapse in time since my last update of the page. I returned from West Africa to the cold, and have since experienced two severe ice and snow storms. My body is not happy. LOL However, it is all good. Here are some pictures from that West African jaunt. They are a montage of snapshots taken on the beach, in Buggy’s niteclub, in my hotel room (The Mariam near Aberdeen Beach), at my friend Gibow’s garage (they do phenomenal restorations), at Kabasa Lodge (where I had a wonderful birthday party with all the family, friends and neighbors), views from the balcony of Gibow’s home in CongoTown (a subdivision in Freetown), and a couple of shots of a section of “busy” downtown Freetown. (Scroll down there are Five rows of pictures in this box)
I have been traveling, and spent several days in Gomel, Belarus. Due to the intense schedule of meetings, and dinners and discussions of the virtues of vodka imbibing, there just was not time for the internet.....LOL
In any event, I am composing this in France where I am again.
I did take some pictures while in Belarus. These are pictures of me at the Gomel War museum, standing ourside near the National bank in Minsk (the capital), and two picture of the Gomel Library - a glass structure and the largest library in Europe.
I find the architecture so fascinating there. From the wooden houses with the intricate craft fretwork to the massive columnated greco-roman buildings, and the duke's palace, etc.
I visited the war museum and was given a very good historical picture of the country before and after world warII.
I know most people could care less where I am (or have been) but for those friends who are interested, I wanted to give a quick update. The pictures taken of me on stage are "sepia". The young man using my camera inadvertantly set it incorrectly, so all those pictures have a red tint. The pictures include one street scene showing the beginning of the hanging of lights for Christmas, me and Max ( musician composer) at lunch in a wonderful little Turkish Restaurant in Paris, and the other pictures are taken at the talent event. Shots of me on stage with the winners and with the youth mayors council.
As I mentioned in an earlier bulletin, I was in France, then Belarus, then back in France before returning to the States last night.
I already posted pictures from a week ago in Paris & Colombes for the Boxing events, and then a few days ago I posted pictures from Gomel and Minsk in Belarus (I have more that I will include on my profile page).
This past weekend I flew back to France to be a judge in the national talent competitions in two categories vocal soloists and bands.
It was held in Colombes, France....a suburban area of Paris.
,br The winners are depicted in the photographs with me. I am also shown with the junior mayors council....a group of school students who get the experience of working with the government and learning about how the government operates and how decisions affecting the citizens are made. They were an impressive group of youngsters.
At the end of this event, I had discussions with the local government organizer and community organizers who will be working with me to develop a program that will include bringing youngsters from there to the US, and taking youngsters from Washington, DC to France. We hope to have the program defined and approved quickly, with the expectation that it will begin next summer.
Any ideas, or reference programs of this type will be greatly appreciated.
Also, I remind you that I am still considering applicants for my summer intern program...I have three applicants from China, one from Bulgaria, and one from Nigeria. If there is any interest let me know and I will give the web information.
I attended the European International Savate Boxing Championships in Colombes, France on Saturday, November 25, 2006. This event was organized by Jean Pierre Masdoua (Boxing Club Colombes). In competition were Savate Boxers fromFrance (Ingrid Graziani, Erika Huille, Stephane Doya & Mario do Souto Semedo), Italy (Manuela Massari and Saro Serafino), Poland ( Zak Przemyslav) and Serbia (Slobodan Popov). It was an exciting event with several exhibitions by youngsters and two handicapped exhibitions. During the event, I was able to chat with the visiting trainers, referees and federation heads….who are all very interested in the new “mixed martial arts” competitions that Washington, DC has approved to begin next year. If you company is has an interest in being a sponsor for a sporting event, please send an email to [email protected].
BELOW are pictures from Keely's MAIN EVENT held Saturday November 4, at the Marriott Wardman Park on Connecticut Avenue in Washington, DC. The youngsters you see in the pictures youth boxers from two programs in Belfast, Norther Ireland (Holy Trinity and Monkstown). They were with us for a week and culminated with "friendly" bouts with our youth at the fundraiser. I am Chair of the Board of Director's of Keely's District District Boxing and Youth Program.

About me:-----Citizen of the World….. adopted children on three continents…have been involved over the years with many organizations that advocate for young people and/or operate programming to young people……
On November 20, 2006, I coordinated the 2nd annual ambassadors' day event in in the County where I live, 28 embassies RSVPed. It was a smashing success--The morning session was at Prince George's County Community College and the afternoon session was at Andrews' Air Force Base with Congressman Albert Wynn was my keynote speaker with other presenters (States Attorney, Chair of Business Roundtable, President of PGC Association of Realtors) with Ambassadors Antoine, Khvostov and Jagne as my Diplomatic Host committee.
MORE ABOUT ME:
I support an orphanage in Sierra Leone, I work with youth programs in The Gambia, Togo and Benin, I have ongoing relationships with people and organizations in France, Belgium, Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, The Philippines, and more………
Under my personal charity I bring college students to America for 2 months in the summer……This year I have 5 under consideration--three in China, one in Nigeria, and one in Bulgaria....if you know of likely candidates let me know, and I will provide my charity website for further information....I have always been vulnerable when it involved programs for young people………………
Change of direction…………I believe in the basic goodness of mankind and know that most people when not in a group will do the right thing…………I believe that we are all critical and needed components of the universe, and that without our various, unique qualities, the universe would be a dull, mundane, boring place to live……………….
My pleasures are simple ones…..I love communing with the bonsai on Sunday mornings when the Botanical Gardens are virtually deserted……. Sunrises on the beach anywhere in West Africa are awe-inspiring. Vibrating from the low Bass rumble of Victoria Falls (South Africa) is humbling and helps ones perspective. ……….. Wandering the streets of Prague and imagining the skilled craftsmen who painstakingly applied the very intricate architectural details on the buildings is stimulating………I am especially enamored there since the main Bridge is named after me LOL…………Strangely I have this unfathomable desire to acquire a Maybach and Hummer (HV-1), not any of those new versions that look like a Hummer in a dress LOL..
People, people, people, without them in their myriad shapes, sizes, colours, mindsets, opinions, ideas, and behaviors would make for a dull, dull existence indeed. …………..
I recently discovered I like new shoes LOL and over the past year I have acquired over 80 new pairs….some of which are in a picture in one of the slides on my page…Cole Haan, Bacco Bucci, Donald J. Pliner, Harley Davidson, Justin Roper, Dingo, Mecca, ………………
I love music and play (in private) classical piano. I have been on the board of the (WAMA) Washington Area Music Association for some years now…………..
I get to travel around to various arts and cultural events and even serve as a judge occasionally.........…like the past four years I have judged at the Le Telethon talent competition finals in France in December, and I have been an honorary judge at some European Hip Hop dance battles………
Believe it, or not, none of those things are my regular job. In my regular work, the CEO of a community development company…….which is basically a not-for profit development company………….we build things………..….multiple and single family homes, hotels, restaurants and such……..….. because of our “community development” status we are charged to do this in a way that improves the quality of life in the communities where we work…………so we focus on affordable, quality housing and development that amenities included that create a sense of neighborhood, safety and comfort…………..
In my personal business, I am involved in international trade management and have much experience working with businesses in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Africa……… I have so far had limitedly involvement with business in South America…………. .
But I love Rio/Sao Paolo, Belize is beautiful and still unspoiled and, Cancun is an easy weekend jaunt LOL. ……………..
I have a small retail clothing business in West Africa………..…currently working on relationships in China to get a line of clothes manufactured under my company label
Anyone needing an Asian manufacturing hookup let me know, my friend represents over 40 manufacturers in the Asia/Pacific region.
……………….Have purchased some of the first equipment to go into a recording studio we are opening in Sierra Leone, hopefully it will be of a standard to serve a wide area of West African countries………………….
Oh enough of that….…..
I love to dance, I have a passion for Brandy straight up with a coke back and twist of lime……………I prefer any form of House, Salsa, Dancehall………..leaping and jumping music to propel me into an all night dance by myself frenzy………. Needless to say, with a sufficient infusion of Brandy & Coke, any musical genre will serve the purpose LOL ……………..
I am not young……….but don’t feel really old……….actually I have been old since I was around 10 when they guys in the neighborhood would send me to buy their beer because I had a mustache already LOL………….
I have been pretty lucky in love…….….and unlike almost everyone I know, I can tell you everyone that I have ever slept with—and I know their family, social security numbers (if American LOL), clothing size…LOL…LOL…and it is the truth, nothing but the truth…….
Currently I am single and alone and quite frequently lonely or maybe lonesome is the more correct word…………..not really sure why this is……….…but I am pretty sure that it is my fault (I have a blog on this that you might find interesting)………….I found that my friends viewed me as expecting perfection—I never thought that—and I worked on changing my behavior to represent what I really feel……………..
I have always been one of those people who seems to inspire deep passionate feelings in people………...either good ones or negative ones………..I still get overtures of possible hookups from surprising attractive people………but I think I cant get over the feeling that no one could really want “me”, but may be attracted to what they see as representing me—my work, my travel, my lifestyle……….….
I know it if foolish, but I have not been able to work that out yet….go figure………well, let me get a tissue and blow my nose after that one LOL………………
This turned into quite a soliloquy….sorry to bore you……you can go completely to sleep now…
Thank you for your time and attention……
I am here to meet people and develop new friendships, even it they only exist in this electronic environment…I will treasure them…..
Thank you again for your visit…..
As Ever, I Remain, Respectfully…..ALFAINDC

As my friends know, I have shoes in a couple of rooms in my house. Since I dont do much partying or going out when I am home, and basically hang out only when traveling, particularly outside of the US, I have over the past couple of years given myself something each month, usually shoes...I try not to go overboard, but some months I have given myself more than one pair....I like clothes and one of my favorite lines if dolce & gabbana...So I thought I would share with you a video excerpt from the 2005-2006 lineup and two others--the last one of scantily clad ladies for those *you know who you are* LOL.
.. width="425" height="350" ..
I also like jeans so, this next segment which is dolce & gabbana's pant lineup was interesting to me too.
.. width="425" height="350" ..
And no fashion lineup would be complete without something for the ladies....well really for the men....moda Athena's women's lineup....we do not provide oxygen with it LOL.
