Melbourne based DJ Luke Shamanix has been a regular fixture on the Australian party circuit for many seasons now. Along with delivering up some of Melbournes most infamous underground psychedelic gatherings of recent years, he’s also traveled far and wide to lay down his sound at a diverse range of events. From regular club nights through to many of Australias largest festivals , Luke is well know for his versatility behind the decks , comfortable playing at any point in a party timeline . This flexability has allowed Luke to avoid being pigeon holed and also to bridge the genre divides within the scene , landing regular appearances for many of Australias most respected party crews.

Luke was first exposed to outdoor psytrance gatherings during the summer of 96-97 at earthcore and green ant forest parties . Impressed and moved by what he had experienced , he set about collecting much of the music that inspired him over the years to follow , before playing his first gigs in 1999 at at underground forest activist parties and at club nights such as Velocity .

Since then he has played at and helped to organise numerous forest gatherings , along with DJing at many larger club and outdoor events .

In 2001 luke was a co-founder of the U.C.C. ( unconscious collective crew ), a loose coalition of like minded individuals from across Victoria who come together periodically to create intimate outdoor gatherings. These have included the “Vanishing Point” and “Solar Lunacy” series of parties , along with the “Arcane Ritual“,which featured Digital Psionics supremo Dark Nebula as headliner .

More Recently U.C.C. hosted the south african full-on master Artifakt on the Victorian leg of his Australian tour at "KerPlunk!".

Luke draws his inspiration from across the spectrum of psychedelic trance styles and from a diverse range of artists . However his signature sound remains that of dark nights in deep forests : pounding kicks , punchy effects and wild atmospherics delivered with minimum cheese.
