IT'S FINALLY OVER! DRUNK DRIVER SENTENCED. As hard as the defense lawyer tried to get him off with probation, the judge sided with us and Tim Murchison was taken from court in handcuffs to spend 2 years, 8 months in state prison. We all feel this is too short a sentence for the seriousness of the crime, but, according to Cal. State law, this is the best we could get within the plea bargain. We fought hard and feel this was a victory. The judge read the over 90 letters sent to him and repeatedly mentioned the fact as to how they gave insight into who Tarek was. The family cannot thank all of you enough for your support, your thoughts and your prayers this last year. It was "all of us" that truly gave us victory. We will continue to keep Dusk's memory alive. Many projects have been put on hold until the court proceedings were concluded. Now we can move forward. The first project is in support of MADD to help change laws and get stricter sentencing.
