NaMirajjNa, stands for the prefix of their middle name which is Nassan.Mirajj stands for what you appear to see is not what you really see because they each have their own distinctive identity.NaMirajj are 18 year old identical twins from Chicago that are triple threats. They are
accomplished vocalists, dancers and actresses. They have been performing since the tender age of eight and have appeared in numerous television commercials, stage plays, films and several radio voice over spots. They have diverse song writing skills that allow them to maintain their own unique original style and sound.NaMirajj consists of Rachel and Gabriel Newman. Even though they are identical twins they each have their own distinctive personality which enhances their unique blend and lends itself to their captivating sound and style. Rachel is a sultry alto with Neo-soul influences. She is fun loving, athletic and loves designing clothes and playing the piano in her spare time. Gabriel is a melodic soprano that has soulful overtones with an R&B influence.
She is outgoing as well as athletic and loves doing calligraphy and playing the guitar. Both Rachel and Gabriel play the trumpet and are fierce choreographers and hip- hop dancers.The Twins had a cameo appearance in the movie Roll Bounce featuring Bow Wow. Other performances include: The Regal Theatre in Chicago, Taste of Chicago, Chicago Cultural Center, Gallery 37, The DuSable Museum, Harold Washington Cultural Center, The Bud Bullikin Parade, Music Theatre Workshop and The Park West.
Other stages they have graced include the House of Blues, The Field Museum and the Spirit of Chicago at Navy Pier.NaMirajj has also sang with Ashe' Productions, GDC Enterprises, PJO Orchestra, and danced with Stick N Move Dance Troop, The Kenny Mack Dancers, The Loony Bin, and The BMOA (Black McDonalds Owners and Operators Assoc.)These young ladies are also active in the community. They serve as mentors and peer advocate leaders and are often called to speak at different schools, functions and other organizations promoting education, literacy, positive life skills, which include alcohol, drug and teen pregnancy awareness.They continue to set the standard in their conduct and careers as entertainers. Their music is a reflection of their spirituality and commitment to make a difference in the industry as well as the lives of their peers.Presently they are in the studio completing their soon to be released CD.
Whenever they grace the stage, NaMirajj brings a touch of class, flavor and High energy. When you see them you might think its a mirage, but its really NaMirajj. Indeed, this dynamic duo is a triple threat, truly a force to be reckoned with!
