Add to My Profile | More VideosAfter his departure from "Era" in 1991, Lyubomir Malkovski decides to form a new band in order to continue developing his musical ideas. The new band includes Adrian "Adry" Ivanov – keyboards, programming, vocals (ex "Orion" and "Era"), Ivaylo "Ivatz" Petrov – bass, vocals (ex "Ahat" and "Orion"), Orlin "Lynch" Radinsky – drums (ex "Impulse" and "Accent") and Lyubomir Malkovski – vocals, guitars, songwriting. Also featured in the recording of the first album are Rumen Antov – guitars (ex "Konkurent”) and Alexander Karandjulov – drums (ex "Konkurent" and "Era"). When the band's first song "Bulgarians" is released, it immediately attracts the attention of both media and audience and the band quickly has to readjust for live performances. At the annual Rhythm music awards Er Malak is voted "Band of 1992" and the album "Er Malak 1" is voted "Album of 1992". The second album "Inmost!" is released in 1994. During these years the band does over 200 concerts in Bulgaria, shoots several TV music videos and records a music soundtrack to the National TV documentary series "Family of the Aquarius". The band participates in numerous music festivals and supports important civic activities like Eco Rockfest "Save Rousse!" (an initiative for saving the heavily air polluted town in Bulgaria), "Anti-AIDS" (establishment of a anti-AIDS foundation) and Rock Fest "Five years since the fall of the Wall" (on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall). After 1994 the band decides to cancel its concert activities due to the severely deteriorating economic conditions of the country and the fading live music scene.Lyubo spends the following years secluded at home with his family, spending much time to learn and master new and fast developing computer recording technologies and also continuing to work on new music ideas. In 1998 Lyubo along with Lynch appear in the "Sound of Passport" music competition where his song "The Child in You" makes it to the final round. Adry also presents his song "Vrana" there. Both compositions are included in the recently re-released CD "Er Malak 1" as bonus tracks. Soon after that Lynch leaves for the UK where he has the chance to meet the right people and begins a successful music career – records 4 albums (Pulse, Hodson, Phenomena, Cloven Hoof) with world known artists (Glenn Hughes, Tony Martin, Matt Moreton, JJ March, Keith Murrell). During this period Adry works with several club bands and as a soundmaster in a recording studio, while Ivatz experiences a severe arm trauma and is forced to leave playing for good.Years later when the country finds itself in a more stable economic state, it turns out that the fans haven't forgot the band at all and Adry decides to bear with the remastering and re-releasing of the band's two albums. The process is completed in late 2005 and the limited pressings are sold out only for 2 months Fans attack the band via internet in all possible ways – forums, chat and e-mail. This leads to the idea of reuniting the band on the o ccasion of its 15th anniversary, which happens at a concert on 21 Sept 2006 in Sofia. Vladimir Leviev (Balkandji) is the new bass player in Ivatz's place. At the moment a live DVD "Er Malak 15th anniversary Live in Sofia" is being prepared and the band is working on its new album, due to be released later this year.Discography "Er Malak 1" - 1992,"Er Malak" (LP) - 1993, "Inmost!" - 1994 "Er Malak 1" (CD-remastered) - 2005, "Inmost!"
