"HEAVY" B

In an interstellar burst, i'm back to save the universe.

About Me

For starters my name is Barrett, like grin & bare it ;o) I live in L.A, but am from N.Y.C, i'd like to send warm thoughts to all my peeps still in the frozen tundra back east. I also lived in London for two years where I spent some quality time as a "p...". I'm a funny guy, also I try to be a courteous, kind, and polite human being. My life has been very full so far. I've done a lot of interesting things from growing up on Park Ave, to having a 5 second moment in the Academy Award winning movie "Scent of a Woman", (check it out and see if you can find me, instead of "Where's Waldo?" we'll call this game "Where's Barrett?") I also was all I could be in the Army. I've met some very famous and powerful people, and some other really neat characters along the way. I was once told that my life reminded someone of a Charles Dickens novel. I have had the good fortune that has allowed me to travel to a lot of great places, and to be friends with some cool and very "interesting" people. I look forward to my 30s being the best time in my life, and I hope that I will get to fulfill most of my unfulfilled dreams the next few years, like skydiving, travelling to Australia, and being a great actor. My gift to you for reading this much is one of my favorite quotes:"To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded. Emerson a

My Interests

I like making a difference in the lives of others. I love to laugh and to make others laugh. Other interests are listening to a great song played live, or at the right moment. I like people watching, watching a great movie, and watching the excitement of sports. Travelling, exploring new places and ideas. Amusing times with cool friends. Seeing a good play or musical. Playing softball and going bowling. Star gazing. Day dreaming, rejoicing.

I'd like to meet:

Martin Luther King Jr. & Joan of Arc both born on my birthday, Kurt Cobain, Bruce Lee, Gandhi, Jesus Christ, and my grand parents. Now onto the realm of the living, the Dali Lama, Bill Clinton, George Lucas, Dave Grohl, Michael Jordan, Barack Obama, Tiger Woods, Anthony Hopkins, Bill Murray, Jack Nicholson, Gary Sinise, Mark Ruffalo, Natalie Portman, and Scarlett Johansson, just to name a few. I'd include Angelina Jolie on this list but I wouldn't want her leaving Brad for me.

Music:

Radiohead is still the best, i've seen them 6 times. They are followed closely by the Foo Fighters, 311, Beck, Tupac, The Killers, Nova Blue, Jimmy Eat World, Nirvana, U2, Incubus, Interpol, secretly Sarah McLachlan, yeah i've been to the Lilith Fair, (I felt pretty smart being a single guy in a sea of women) Blur, Billy Joel, I love the 80's, some musical soundtracks like "Rent", "Phantom of the Opera, and "Les Miserables", after all my sister's name is Cosette, "The Rolling Stones", "The Red Hot Chili Peppers", "The Black Crows". Recently I have enjoyed listening to "Death Cab For Cutie", "She Wants Revenge", and "Snow Patrol".

Movies:

I love movies and have ever since I was a little boy, recently I thought that "Crash" was fantastic and so was "King Kong". "The Shawshank Redemption" might be my favorite movie, followed closely by "Good Will Hunting", and "Garden State". Some other great movies are "Amelie", "The Usual Suspects", "The Wedding Crashers", "American Beauty", "La Femme Nikita", "The Empire Strikes Back", "Tombstone", "Moulin Rouge", "Bound", "Shortcuts", "Pulp Fiction" "Airplane", & who can forget "Back to The Future", "The Wizard of Oz", "Braveheart", "Top Gun", "The Lion King" etc etc etc.....................................

Television:

I star in my own reality show, called "Life" it's really amazing you should check it out sometime. Lately I am a big fan of "Brothers and Sisters" also very regrettably I have enjoyed "American Idol" I know so please withold your judgment.

Books:

"Babar" was great when I was 6, "La Petite Prince" was great when I was 11, and I liked reading "Catcher in the Rye" and "Lord of the Rings", when I was a teenager, but honestly these days I should read more often, although I have recently become a huge Mitch Albom fan.

Heroes:

My mom after all she had me and raised me. Gandhi, JC, Joan of Arc, and MLK Jr. for the devotion they had to their causes and to others. MJ for always coming through in the clutch. Sergeant Bolden who was my best boss in the Army and is one of the most honest people i've ever met. Clancy Imislund for being such a lifesaver. and last but never least my little sister, she really lights up my space :o)
