Zodiac Sign: Cancer
Hometown: St. Louis, MO Greetings and welcome to my space.
Here's a question for you: How much work could a network work, if a network could net work?
Yes, I'm a nut.
I'm a happily married, thirtysomething mother of two, unpublished writer, and artist (and parttime geek). I enjoy meeting new people and spending time with like-minded friends.
I'm a pagan and I practice the "art" of self-balance. That's an ongoing process in my life since I'm always changing and quite the klutz. Being open-minded is very important to me - if you can't keep an open mind about nearly everything in life, it would be best for you to forget about adding me.
I was raised on a "quiet" family farm in Missouri. We raised just about everything - horses, cows, sheep, dairy goats, pigs, dogs, llamas, donkeys, rabbits, assorted fowl, and just about everything else imaginable. I can't really say I miss farm life - 5am milking, mucking stalls, sweating my rear off (ha, just kidding, it's still there). Nope don't miss it. I do, however, miss the affection I received from the animals. Our family dog (my nemesis) does not compare to all I left behind on that farm.
Good day to you, and I hope you enjoy browsing my site. I'm going to add new things from time to time so things stay interesting. We'll just say this site is a work in progress (kind of like everything in my life).
My Interests:
I really enjoy listening to music and depending on my mood, my preferences range from rock to classical, jazz, hip-hop, country, and alternative (pretty much the entire spectrum).
My free time is spent reading. You see, I'm a book whore. Yes, you read correctly. Can't get enough, especially when it's a sexy read. Mostly I stick with romance, sci-fi, and horror but I've been known to pick up a mystery or thriller now and then. If you ask me to pick a favorite author I couldn't do it, but Angela Knight, Patti O'Shea, Laurell Hamilton, Christine Feehan, Yasmine Galnorn, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Nora Roberts top my list. Don't get me wrong, I read a lot of other authors (a LOT) but with those seven, I have this compulsion to find all of their published work (and read and reread until I nearly have their stories memorized).
I tend to write a lot - as you can tell by this site. I do still want to try and get something published but it's just a matter of finishing something I want to have considered. That's kind of tough when I feel as though nothing is ever good enough. Ahh, someday...
I love messing around with HTML and scripting, not to mention graphics - this site is my creation. Only time will tell if I'll actually do something with it or not (kind of like my writing).
I do a lot of crafting - sewing, scrapbooking, crochet, woodworking, soap, incense, and candle making, etc. Since I'm involved in the girls' after school activities (Girl Scouts) it sure comes in handy to know these things - we're always doing some type of craft project.
There are so many other things in which I'm interested but I think this is enough for now. Feel free to drop me a line and chat!

Not much these days. Because of my food allergies and intolerances I've cut back on just about everything. I now follow a very strict diet and since I'm doing this on my own I'm learning a lot about nutrition as I go along.
Here are a few simple things that I'm finding to be good:
I marinate a tender cut of beef such as a petite fillet or 5 oz. top sirloin in a good Cabernet Sauvignon with dried cherries (with no sulfides) and black olives. The flavor is wonderful! Grill 'em and enjoy with veggies like cucumber and tomato.
I've also started eating foods like yogurt (no additive kind with just non-fat milk and pectin) with a fruit like blackberries. Blackberries are high in fiber and they help balance out the yogurt's protein.
When I come up with some new recipes I'll post them here but for now I'm simply grilling meat and eating it with fresh fruits and veggies. Gone are my days of eating breads, pastas, cakes, and pastries... I now avoid gluten, eggs, soy, corn syrup, and other reactive foods. It's really hard to find something to eat some days but the benefits are wonderful!
