"constantine's vocals are intimate and soaring, reminiscent of jeff buckley and elbow. seattle band safer's debut is a dynamic set of haunting, hook-filled indie rock."
~dj michele myers, KEXP 90.3
safer began as the individual projects of it’s founding members joseph constantine and andy ruggles. borne from imploded projects and late night recording sessions, the band took form avoiding form and letting the material guide the evolution. safer’s self-titled EP, mixed by ex-fort apache producer brian brown (the blakes, juliana hatfield, pete yorn), is the product of these sessions.
following their radio debut on local seattle station KEXP, constantine and ruggles formed a live band to bring safer to the stage. after a breakout performance at local rock club the high dive, safer has begun building a buzz, while simultaneously recording new material for their first full-length LP slated for summer 2007.
