"ON THE BRINK" FEATURES HEAD LIKE A KITE Head Like a Kite was recently featured in the trailer for a new show called "On the Brink" that follows the roller coaster ride of up-and-coming indie bands. The producers flew out to Seattle to film us at the beginning of our Spring tour for the "On the Brink" trailer, and then debuted it at the Nokia Theater in New York during Broadband Enterprise's unveiling of their new shows. See the trailer below.
7ate9 Entertainment, who produces shows for Disney, ESPN, Nickelodeon, etc., is producing "On the Brink" for Broadband. NEW RECORD BREWING
The new full-length record "There Is Loud Laughter Everywhere" is coming out June 17 on Mush Records (a stellar LA-based electronic label that has released stuff by Her Space Holiday, Busdriver, Daedelus, Boom Bip, Aesop Rock, Lymbyc Systym and other favs.) ! I mixed it with Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Secrete Machines, Iron & Wine) in Chicago in early March. Dave Cooley (Danger Mouse, Prefuse 73, Madlib, Daedelus) mastered it and it's going to rattle some Hondas! Expect big electronic and hip hop beats propelling a dancefloor of indie rock hooks. Asya of Smoosh joins in again, as does Eric from The Long Winters, PJ from Radio 4, Barton and Barb from Crooked Fingers, Graig Markel, Darius from The Posies, Zera, Andrew, Shiho, Barry, Kendra, and Taryn on theramins, cellos, violins, and lots of other toys. Trent Moorman busts out the beats. Illustrious designer Jeff Kleinsmith at Sub Pop/Patent Pending Industries is doing the artwork. I can't wait to play it for you.

BIO
HEAD LIKE A KITE is Dave Einmo, and his revolving cast of musical friends, including touring partner/instrumentalist/drummer Trent Moorman. Marrying a love of progressive electronic production and instrumental wizardry with a spot-on knack for pop-songcraft, Head Like A Kite debuted in 2006 with the Pattern 25 release, Random Portraits of the Home Movie, a universally praised album built around samples from family Super-8 home movies from the 70s. The success of the album led to tours of the US and Japan (with projector in tow) and an appearance on MTV2’s “On The Rise.” (See reviews from London Times, URB, Remix, LA Weekly, Magnet, Alternatiave Press, etc. below.) Head Like A Kite continues to climb with a move to LA-based electronic label Mush for the May 20 release, There Is Loud Laughter Everywhere, an album that builds on HLAK's found sound meets electronic rock framework with unquestionable expertise. The result seamlessly ties epic pop overtones to sunny bliptronic beats, sounding like an indie band remixed by Entroducing era DJ Shadow and LCD Soundsystem.Joined by members of The Long Winters, Radio 4, Crooked Fingers, Smoosh, Animals at Night and others, Head Like a Kite’s There Is Loud Laughter Everywhere, takes listeners on an aural road trip, mixing propelling hip hop drum beats with electronic Krautrock and indie pop peppered with field recordings captured while HLAK toured the United States. The result is a lush, party soundtrack that fast forwards to the future, taking us on a memorable sonic trip around the country.Produced by Brian Deck (Modest Mouse, Secret Machines, The Grates, Iron & Wine) and mastered by Dave Cooley (Danger Mouse, Madlib, Prefuse 73, Silversun Pickups, Polyphonic Spree).
