Midnight Schemes is an indie/folk, funk/manouche trio. The band started in early 2004, prolifically playing the ramshackle circuit around the rock capital of the UK, Cambridge. Two confusing years followed, securing the band an enviable live reputation and victory in the Cambridge Battle of the Bands. On a sadder note, this period of their development was accompanied by string of humiliatingly woeful haircuts.
The band’s first EP (All Nighter) was released in April 2006. A second three track collection (The Morning After EP) was released in October 2007 to accompany the band's migration from Cambridge to London. Please download these tracks for free and ponder what they might sound like if played live...
Now stop pondering and listen to this. If anyone is considering coming to see the band play live you should be aware that the first 10,000 fans at each gig will be presented with a beautiful steamed ham as part of each show’s transcendent encore.*
*Subject to the venue in question providing the band with an industrial ham steamer on the night. And 10,000 beautiful hams.
