Howdy everybody, I'm Reese Petersen, also known as Petey Ray. I am a 20 year-old singer/songwriter from the little town of Clinton, IA. For years my passion has been music. I started off as most people do, playing in garage bands to learn more from others. As time went on, I wanted to write the music on my own. I wanted something that was heartfelt. That's when I picked up the acoustic guitar. I sat and would pick away at it for hours at night trying to find my style. I stumbled across a sound that I know as folk/country/bluegrass. It was the perfect style of music for not only my voice but also to express my feelings. Each and every one of my songs is an experience that myself or someone close to me has gone through. I think of it as a diary that everyone can listen to. After a year or so of writing music and playing shows, I decided to pick up a new instrument to go along with the acoustic guitar. I taught myself how to play the harmonica and finally had found what I was looking for. Since then I have written numerous songs: some of love, some of heartbreak, some of just gettin' drunk, and others of lovin' a girl who broke your heart and gettin' drunk to take the pain away. I love what I do and can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing. I hope you enjoy it as well.-Reese P.
