Far removed from the pretension, and conflicting agendas of Clubland, Raw Basics is a private membership based gathering held at a private space which ensures the greatest of ingredients : FREEDOM
Freedom to PUT THE MU SIC FIRST. Freedom as we see defined to navigate an evening of dancefloor soul linking together the family tree. Bending so called genres. Bringing forth sounds from the Field Spiritual to the Future shocks. An aural escapade seamlessly weaving togeth er soulful sounds celebrated through the dance.
Born out of frustration with the present state of the club experience DJ Rob Rhythm, a New Jersey transplant, sought to create a environment where the people could come together and experience the music on deeper level. A place that built on, and expanded traditions he experienced growing up in what could be called the golden years of club/dj culture in tri-state area. Reaching out to fellow NJ transplant, and former dancer DJ Wazir, the goal was to program an evening of music that emcompassed their vast musical taste within a intimate family atmosphere. Rob also recruited Oakland based maverick producer Aybee (Deepblak) to bring forth his forward leaning sounds, and tastes to the night. With the mission, space, and residents locked in Raw Basics is now here.
