Born and raised in the southside of Toronto's Lakeshore area Nathan Skinner aka 'Nate Skeeze' has and will be Canada's next big thing in the music industry. Skeeze started writing poetry by age 10, and rapping professionally at age 13, but U.S labels said his mentally was too mature for his age. Skeeze never stopped rapping. By age 14, he was entering and winning rap battles against Toronto's best underground artists.
Like most kids in the acclaimed hoods, Skeeze dealt with the ups and downs of growing up in the ghetto. Nevertheless, he's always made lite the negatives of the hood. Some might consider his music 'gangster rap', but the majority of his records focus on the trials and tribulations of that lifestyle. Having family throughout tough neighborhoods in Toronto, Nate Skeeze has seen and learned a lot through his environment, his own and his associates experiences.
Nate's year and a half stint in BK, New York, gave him opportunities: battling local MCees, playing ball with the infamous Team Rocafella, and releasing an underground mixtape that caught the ears of many in the famed Brooklyn area.
At age 15, Skinner began rapping with neighborhood friend Jonathan Porier aka J-Diggz and his brother Scotch Butta, all part of Starbwoyz music, and Firm Grip Entertainment. In addition to the team is Skeeze's childhood friend Jordan Bowler aka Sham, the next up and coming artist out of the Lakeshore area.
Nate Skeeze. MC. Ghost-writer. The flipside, is Nate Skinner, still one of Canada's most promising athletes. Nathan Skinner was 2005's no. 1 rated basketball player in the country, signed to NCAA's University of Iowa. Due to scheduling conflicts and low grades Skinner transferred to a junior college in Miami, Florida where he is currently a freshman. After his two year term he plans to return to the NCAA
With lyrical and vocal comparances of a mixture of JayZ, Nas and the combination of Nate's good looks and undenying ability to cater to the ladies and the fellas', Nate Skeeze is definately the next big thing out of Canada. Being Canadian and living in the U.S (Brooklyn, NY. Miami, Fl.), has influenced Nate's style, distinctive from other Canadian artists, and is heard through his music.
