I love to cook, doesn't really matter what. I love experimenting, trying new things. Art is something else I'm very passionate about, it's a really great way for me to express and explain myself to the world. My whole life revoloves around classic movies, anything from 1910-1960, I love. I am addicted to TCM (Turner Classic Movies). And even though I'm not the "outdoorsy" type, I absolutely love landscaping and playing tennis. I truly believe, deep down, one can never learn too much. And each and every day I try to teach myself something new...
Unfortunately, most of the people I would like to meet have already passed away. And there are far too many to write down, but I'll try to list as many as I can.................. Gloria Swanson, James Cagney, Jimmy Stweart, Fred Rogers, Ronald Reagan, Bela Lugosi, Dwight Frye, Pope Benedict XVI, Claude Monet, Mario Batali, Lillian Gish, Edward G. Robinson, Grace Kelly, Fred Astaire, Greta Garbo, Thelma Ritter, Johnny Cash, Groucho and Harpo Marx, Charlie Chaplin, Erich von Stroheim, and Charles Boyer.(Just to name a few.)
Johnny Cash, Bing Crosby, Billy Joel, Frank Sinatra, and much of the music from the 1950's. I like someone from about every genre. I find myself turning on Classical and Big Band music right before I go to sleep, it helps me relax. I enjoy listening to it every once in a while. My music interests seem to change from day to day.
My absolute favorite movies at the moment are Dracula (1932), Sunset Blvd., and Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein. I also like: ~"The Great Dictator" ~"Rear Window" ~"City Lights" ~"Spite Marriage" ~"Mark of the Vampire" ~"Beyond the Rocks" ~"The Gold Rush" ~"Freaks" ~"White Heat" ~"The Woman" (short film) ~"Return of Chandu" ~"Broadminded" ~"Limelight" and... ~"It's A Wonderful Life"They are many, many more...but you get the idea.
I can't say I watch much of it anymore. Though I watch TCM and Food Network almost every other day. I don't particularly care for network shows, etc. But I like cooking shows, news, and of course, I love watching movies.
Biographies, Film books, and mafia books. I adore my "Swanson on Swanson" book and my "Film Encyclopedia". Also, apart from those I've already listed, I like "Night" by Eli Weisel and "I Love You, Ronnie" by Nancy Reagan.
I have so many heroes, there must be hundreds that influence me on a daily basis. My grandparents, my church family, my dear friend Jeremy, Gloria Swanson, Bela Lugosi. They all have become heroes in my mind. And most of all, God.
