DJ Orator was born and raised in Long Beach California and began his journey to become a radio DJ by starting up his own college Hip Hop radio show in 1999 at Cal State Long Beach called “A-List Radioâ€. A year latter in 2000 Orator moved his show to USC and quickly gained recognition for his skills as a DJ and Radio producer. That Same Year DJ Orator landed himself an internship position with the World Famous Wake Up Show “Currently On Power 106 Los Angeles†hosted by Sway, King Tech, DJ Revolution and Carmalita. While interning on the “Wake Up Show†DJ Orator learned the business of radio and honed his skills at radio imaging. In 2001 Orator left “The Wake Up Show†and began doing radio imaging for Eric Cubeechee of 100.3 The Beat and his “Saturday Night Live†radio show. After a year of working with Eric Cubeechee DJ Orator became a DJ and co host on Seditious Beats also known as “Divine Forces Radio†broadcasting live on KPFK 90.7 fm every Friday night from 10PM to 1AM. Orator’s skills as a DJ were quickly noticed and received widespread recognition in Los Angeles. DJ Orator’s style of mixing many different types of music while entertaining multicultural crowds of all ages makes him very entertaining to watch and listen to. In 2002 100.3 KKBT named DJ Orator up and coming DJ of the year and was given the guest mixer slot. In addition Orator has mixed on 93.5 KDAY during the Holiday Mix Weekends. In 2005 DJ Orator was the official tour DJ for Brother J of X-Clan and has also rocked the turntables for KRS-ONE and was special guest DJ at the legendary “Rock The Bells†concert opening for The Wu-Tang Clan.
