The early years
I've been around music all of my life. I've been around DJing since 1983. I started assisiting on school dances in 1986. I officially started my DJ career in 1989.
Since I started, I have become deeply involved in the technical side of the business, always trying to enhance our performance through expensive toys and unbelievable sound (LOL), as well as applying my own unique spin on things.
DJ Idea Sharing
Over the years, I have developed a passion for this industry and have tried to give back. I helped create DJ Idea Sharing, a peer-to-peer learning & networking experience for DJs and mobile entertainers. This has grown beyond my wildest imagination (which is wild to begin with). From our original small get-togethers, to now being privelidged to be part of some of the biggest & best DJ industry events & conventions all over the country. View our website or our myspace page.
Podcast Network
Now DJ Idea Sharing is podcasting! Our Podcast Network focuses on the Mobile DJ industry with interviews, discussion topics, and more. We also have special legend interviews like the one we just did with artist Chubby Checker. As the network producer, I am having lots of fun!
The Professional Disc Jockeys of New England
I also founded
The Professional Disc Jockeys of New England (PDJNE), a regional DJ association for professional DJ/entertainers.
Denon DJ
I am greatly honored to be one of only a select few DJs who were choosen to represent and be officially certified by Denon DJ as part of their street team in 2004-2005. I have been a diehard Denon user since the beginning of my career and continue to do things with their products that still amaze me. Much thanks to Silvio and Dave from Denon for the awesome opportunity!
New Millenium DJing
I am a big fan of the new Computerized Performance DJ movement. (This does differ from so-called "Digital DJs", i-pod DJs and the like...) I recently attended and contributed to the Computer DJ Summit (Something I highly recommend to ALL DJs who consider themselves to be professional.) I have also chosen to go the route of using all Apple OS X-based computers, as well as using my DJ tool of choice - M-Audio's innovative TORQ DJ program . Thanks to Professor Jam, Dr. Drax, and Sir Wolfy for paving the way for the new millenium CPSDJ!
The wife and kids
I would also like to mention my wonderful wife, who often has to share my affections with the DJ industry. She is my best friend and the best wife anyone could ever ask for. Her and I live on a beautiful lake with our 6 children er... um... dogs and cats. We both hope to grow old gracefully there together.
Oh yeah,
and I reluctantly admit that I am a member of the comedy rap group Sudden Death . The shame...
