Alex Films

Well, my name is Alex. I've lived most of my life in Montreal Quebec, but I did take an 8 year hiatus in Milpitas California, that I now like to refer to as my childhood. I'm very pasionate about music maybe perhaps more than film. Infact I adore the juxatpostion of film and music. The kids call em' "Music Videos". Actually for any of you familiar with Michel Gondry, I realized we both crossed into cinema in a simalar way. Back in California, I got my first drum kit when I was 13. Played in bands and such. In highschool I was very fortunate to be introduced to photography by the great Mr. Buril, such wonderful man, i can't say enough good things about him. He was also obsessed with the Wizard of Oz and trains but of course that was just another reason to love him. Upon my return to Montreal I developed my skills in film and video as well as photography. Had a blast shooting and developing in my college's dark room. Upon graduation I was then admitted to Concordia's Film Production. Had the thrill of winding up old Bolex cameras and making 16mm films. I was trully blessed to work side by side with other incredible film students. And best of all under the tutelage of a great veteran of the golden years of the NFB, Martin Duckworth a.k.a. the MIGHTY D, haha! Starting in September 2006, I'll be taking a year off to work.
