BiographyMartha Cancel first started in the music entertainment industry as assistant to Jose Tejeda who at the time was the ..1 Merengue promoter in New York City. There she acquired experience working with artists and Managers as Event Coordinators for all Latin shows at the Felt Forum/Madison Square Garden, City Hall among other venues. Later she joined Ralph Mercado and build what we know today as RMM Records & Video Corp. Ms. Cancel was the Production and Publishing Director for the company, as well as the assistant coordinator for the annual Salsa Festivals in Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Palladium and the Village Gate. Martha also coordinated and executed tours on a national and international level for such high profile artists as: Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Fania All Stars, Willie Colon, Andy Montañez and Hector Lavoe. She also worked closely in A&R, sales, marketing and promotions for: Jose Alberto "El Canario", Tito Nieves, Tony Vega, Domingo Quiñonez, Orquesta De La Luz, The New York Band, Sandy Reyes among others.In the late 90's, she proceeded to work with PPI Entertainment where she created and developed their Latin division label Compose Tropico where she was Managing Director and was responsible for all aspects of the label.Martha developed the label for three years before deciding to establish her own music publishing, marketing & promotions company called Dustelli Music.Some of Martha' recent musical accomplishments include: Enamorado De Ti, recorded by Frankie Negron/WEA Latina which became a national hit, exposing her as a new songwriter and awarded her and her publishing company a BMI Latin Award on April/2001. Another national and international hit is Quiero recorded by Jerry Rivera/ BMG US Latin. This song charted .. 1 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks for five consecutive weeks and was certified gold and platinum by the RIAA on 4/2001."Quiero" received several other nominations and awards including a nomination as Song of the Year in Premio Lo Nuestro awards February 2002, and received two BMI Latin Awards for Best Tropical Song of the Year.The most current hit single Por Tu Placer recorded by Frankie Negron hit the airwaves like a storm, which also received a Grammy Nomination in 2002 for Best Salsa Album."Esta Noche" & "Asi Es Tu Amor" was recorded by Sentidos Opuestos/EMI Mexico and were also awarded gold certification.I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
