Full biog very soon,
But here is a little tinkle about me.
(The 80’s)
I have been a DJ, Producer and Song Writer since 1981.
The first record label I launched was called Electron records back in 1983. I licensed Electron records to Trindisc records in 1983; we were distributed by Warner Brothers and also Pinnacle records.
My act then was called KLOKWERK, the Music style I was producing and also dj'ing to back then was Electro and Hi-Energy.
I had one of the first Electro tracks released in the UK called Klokwerk Mind. The song was writing by Barry Upton, who went on to form STEPS and write 5,6,7,8.
Klokwerk Mind was the only project we did together; it was after this that Barry’s career took off as a producer and song writer.
I had a definite idea in my head on how the sound should be, but i could not express my self to Barry in the studio as he had writing the track and was very close to it, so we were starting to have little arguments between me and my Manager and then between my Manager and Barry about the way the sound and arrangement was going. The track had to be 100% Electro but with my little touch thrown in to the production mix.
The Studio we were recording in was called Production House owned by Phil Fearon from the group Galaxy (Dancing Tight, I Can Prove It to name just a couple of his tracks)
On the day we were recording Klokwerk Mind, Phil Fearon was doing the pop video for Dancing Tight in and around London, he had just finished the Video shoot and came back to his studio and could see that no progress had been made on the track and could see how frustrated we all were. Phil pulled me aside and asked what I wanted to do production wise with the track, so I gave him my ideas, he then asked if he could co produce the track with me, my Manager then agreed with Barry to let Phil and my self take over the production. 12 hours later the first UK Electro House track was born. This was still only 1983. We called it Electro / House because of the name of Phil’s recording studio Production House.
At the same time I was doing live shows around the UK and Europe but London took off for us, there was not one time from 1983 until 1986 that I was not in London doing a show during the week or the weekend. We did every major club you could do at the time, all ways being asked back, as well as doing back-to-back tours around the UK for Mecca international and First leisure. (But always back in London at least one Night a week or the weekend).
MORE INFO SOON.
