i am ( a psychologist) and a poetess that is pretty much into literature, philosophy, politics, science ..and all human issues . I write my poems more or less in english.( they are to be seen at my blog above )that is why i am here for .i would like to communicate them with a larger range of people and friends from different cultures. i am raised in germany and used to write my poems in german, but lately found out that it doesnt allow me to reveal my turkish background.i do relate in my poetry pretty much to the ancient tradition of my country.all my poems do follow a certain attitude of how to deal the music and rythm. the beat in verse to me is as important as the imagery and the thoughts that a poet offers as i grew up dancing very early .and as a dancer who onces performed turkish dances, i could not give up the bondage between music and words. in turkey we do have the expression " MAKAM " . It defines a structure, a theme given which is transformed in various different ways to put it..my poems and thoughts do have this ornamental patterns and also the diction that is probably very deep inside me and i did not know for long time that the german language wasnt sufficient to translate my background as we grow up with the old trobadoures text from even the 12th century and therefore i like art that tries to tell a story and brings our human existances and proportions, shapes nearer to what we call dignity and where we can live in peace by accepting that we are all vulnerable and imcomplete. thus how i need to tell a story ,how the imagery can be set , the timing of a story , all this details are pretty much influcenced by my cultural roots and also the surreal painters,and expressionist writers and the dadaist movement, and many many great poets from all over the world, like pablo neruda, brecht, nazim hikmet, rilke and majkowski, pavese, and wizslawa symborska, shakespeare, bukowski, else lasker schüler, rudyard kipling. taylor..and the russian poets for sure.....many left though that i cant mention here. so you are welcome to view my poems. and of course..i would like to welcome people that have ideas, that can motivate me to write a poem or who can suggest a reading place where i can read .i am also looking for musicians to perform my poems .Selam Nezahat..
