In 1984, at the age of 10 is when M.A.S.U.'s interest in Hip Hop began. Residing in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, he set out to make a name not only for himself, but, his city as well. In 1988, he and his friend started a group, known as the "808 Posse". But, later in 1992 the group was over and Shannon's journey began. In 1993, he began work on his first official project titled "Underground Funk". This was under the direction of?an Independent Record Label?called Down $outh Records, but, later renamed to $traight 2 Gold, Incorporated (www.straight2gold.biz). On May 26, 1994 "Underground Funk" was released, later that same year Shannon's father which was in the Air Force received orders to relocate to Colorado Springs, Colorado, which ended his agreement with Down $outh Records. In September 1994, M.A.S.U. sent his demo. to Felony Records, they liked it, and signed him to the label. By the beginning of Fall 1995, Felony Records, relesed, "Bringin' Drama". He later opened shows for acts such as Shang the comedian, Alkoholiks, Keith Murray, DMD, Lil' Troy, Ginuwine, J-Shin, Kid Frost, South Park Mexican, and many others. In 2001, Born2Die Records, assisted M.A.S.U. with the release, "No Mercy". Also, M.A.S.U. is featured on a track titled "Paper Chasin'" off of the Mob Afiliates new release. M.A.S.U. was also featured on the 2001 $traight 2 Gold, Inc. release, L.D. "The Power of Hip Hop". You can hear him spice up the tracks "1, 2", "Tunnel Vision", and "Krunk Funk".
With his love and passion for the Music Industry and Music as a whole, he is out to turn some heads. With his unique sound and style the Florida native, who now resides in Colorado is ready to show the world, the true meaning of "Real".
