About Me

Letmein is a band about simple things. They never really were punks but they all like punk music. They do not listen to radio-friendly pop but are suckers for great melodies and indiepop. They dislike the snob feeling in the indie scene but still love indie artists, independence and the indie way of doing things. They also try to never forget the moral lessons of bands like Fugazi or Negazione.
Their music is a melting-pot of these elements: energetic but breezy, distorted, based on clean vocal melodies, guitar hooks and schizophrenic drum beats.
The guys from Letmein love to party hard everytime they can but you won't hear a song about beer or fast bikes in their works. They like to talk about the little ordinary things in everyday life, and about the poetry often hidden in them. Their lyrics often flirt with melancholy, hope, and amazement for the outside world. They are doing their best to keep an idealistic point of view upon life, in the conviction that cynism is the end of every kind of suitable magic.
Born in the summer of 2003 and reborn by the end of 2007, Letmein released two demos and appeared in several compilations and samplers.
The first demo, entitled The Daydream EP and recorded after just 5 months since the foundation fo the band, was their first attempt to create something musically beautiful, and it sadly failed. Songs were not so bad, but the execution and the recording quality were something you wouldn't want to listen to.
After The Daydream EP Letmein started to rehearse hard and things were getting better: for the first time something good was coming out from their old Huges & Kettner combos. In a year they recorded their second demo, named Liesbook, and it was a good one: songs were catchy but still urgent and aggressive, recording quality just got better and the lyrics became more personal and somewhat heartfelt.
Liesbook had some good reviews by magazines and webzines and opened new doors to the band: it consented Letmein to tour Austria, to appear on the first sampler-cd of the magazine Punkster and on a compilation by the well-known italian label Wynona Records, along with other fine punk/emo/hardcore bands. That was the days in which the name of Letmein began to spread among the followers of the punk/indie scene. So Letmein pushed on the accelerator and did a large amount of gigs in Italy.
In the summer of 2007, after touring France, the band won the italian section of the Burnout Band Slam Contest, an international event organized by Electronic Arts and Virgin Records, with the song B.L.S. - Basic life Support. The excitement was high and palpable. But then the telephone rang again, and more good news came in the life of the band: they were chosen among more than 2.200 bands for the finals of the famous Heineken Jammin' Festival, along with other 33 bands.
So they went to Milan at Jungle Sound Studio to prove their skills but they were not chosen among the 19 winners. When the bitter taste in their mouth was gone, the guys of the band put a smile on their faces, realizing how much their music was growing up and still maturing with all these experiences and good results.
Recently, and for the first time, some label has shown interest in the band, so they have begun to record their first full-lenght, taking their time to calmly decide what is better for the band.
Now you can find a new song online, as an hors d'oeuvre for the people who always supported them, because too much time passed since their last song.
They are coming back with new stuff and evergreen flaming passion, and everything seems finally ready for the takeoff. Sometimes simple things are exactly what makes the difference.
