About Me

If the tables were turned, Id probably do the same.. A quote that best fits the life of an 18 year old named Maurice Merkerson. Born to Trinidadian bank teller and an Army Captain, Moe The Slayer, the 2nd born of 4, enters the world via Laurelton, Queens, NY, a rough neighborhood on the southeast of New York Citys biggest borough. As told by Moe himself, I witness some shit at an young age, from seeing niggas get killed to my uncle smoking crack in the house, so you can say at young age, I was prepare for anything, but do I regret any bad shit in my life?, nah it only helped me in the long run. Growing up in the inner city, Moe, like many, saw his escape root on the basketball courts and microphone. As a basketball player, Moe had the skills but found it easier to become an favorite amongst fans on cds. I grew up listening to rap, because of my surroundings. Moe adds. Listening to the likes of Nas, Jay-Z, 2-Pac, The Notorious BIG, Scarface, Joe Budden, and Ali Vegas, Moe crafted a style thats unheard of before. Moe The Slayer started off rapping at the tender age of 8 but started to take it serious once he hit the age of 16. I spitted for a lot of niggas, from Mr. Cheeks, live on my block, he came through to visit his mans, and I started to spit for him and got his autograph. Busta Rhymes was good friends with my first cousin D, so him, also did the same for D-Nice. Once he started getting serious with rap, he really took heed into starting up his own movement, DCF. DCF was started back with me and my nigga for life Kromie; we used to write rhymes on his porch. DCF was first known as Da Crime Family, but todays meaning came from a good friend/rhyming partner Young Weazsol. He told me yo we should switch to something better, since all of us dedicated and concentrated on this rap shit and we roll together like family, thats what it came out to be. Moe has the determination of a young rapper but that ability to grind of ones of an seasoned vet. Gearing up to release his highly anticipated mixtape, Moe maps out an plan to take the game by storm not only as an artist but as an CEO. Im an rapper but I have my own situation over at DCF Recordings, you know, Young Weazsol, AK, several artists, Im trying to be an young entrepreneur and focus on laying out an blueprint for niggas to see that you can be from the hood and make it man; Im trying to be a role model for my little brother Malik and all the little kids trying to become something successful. Motivation at its finest.
