About Me

Murray aka Adam Murray was born in Chicago in the early 1980’s. His father was his first major influence being a professional musician and entertainment agent. Adam was exposed to and expressed an interest in music at a very young age playing with any instrument he could get his hands on.
During middle school Adam assisted with the creation of a young garage band called “Unisonic”. Unisonic was a power trio influenced by the Seattle grunge movement of the early 1990’s. Unisonic’s song titled “Friend to The End” gained the attention of JAM Productions which held a promising outlook. Unfortunately things did not pan out as expected and the song’s quickly gained momentum ended with an extremely short lived local presence. With the disbandment of Unisonic Adam became more involved with the B-Boy, hip-hop, & dance community.
Entering high school Adam’s dynamic musical & theatrical abilities became visibly known by all he surrounded. His talent as an actor, poet, mc, music producer, musician, and DJ designated him as a local prodigy. Adam received the District’s “Poet of The Year” award his sophomore year and was presented with publication options that were never pursued due to legal issues.
Adam then embarked on a journey assembling an experimental hip-hop/blues/reggae band called “White Rasta”. Behind the scenes Adam arranged the music and wrote the lyrics for White Rasta. Along with being the lead singer and front man for the group, Adam was also the DJ, played keys, & occasionally laid licks down on the bass guitar.
From 1998 till 2002 Adam assisted with the movement of the underground dance community and preformed under the stage name “Relapse”. Relapse became extremely well known as “DJ Relapse” throughout the Rave scene headlining at many events. During this period Relapse released numerous underground mix tapes and two albums of his original compositions.
Adam was named Relapse for his intelligently coordinated mixing techniques and the ability to resample previously played records with discrete methodology causing a subliminal audio “relapse”. Relapse specialized in spinning tech house, ambient trance, speed garage, break beats, and hip hop. Murray established several ties with numerous event promoters throughout the Chicago-Land & Mid-West dance community.
With the rave scene condoning such a high level of drug use, recreational experimentation turned into habitual abuse. Adam was arrested for possession of narcotics on several occurrences and was required to enter substance rehabilitation to avoid conviction and jail time. After being released from rehab, Adam headed down the same path he was on prior to the start of the program. This created tremendous complications with his family, friends, and school. This behavior continued unhinged until the Chicago rave scene started its eminent demise. With drugs being the highest priority Adam momentarily dropped all focus on music. With hope lost and his new reality accepted the future outlook was very dim. The unavoidable depression appeared to be the ultimate demise of Adam Murray.
During this time of depression, disarray, and discouragement Adam began to date a girl by the name of Alisha. When Adam was in Alisha’s presence he was numb to the pain usually felt from being sober. Alisha reignited a long lost feeling that Adam was convinced would not return; the feeling of happiness. Though it was assumed by others to be a short lived relationship, this intimate connection blossomed into a solid foundation which served as the base for Adam’s recovery.
After recovery Adam resurrected his life’s passion, the love for music. With a new view on life Adam decided to create his first solo album under his sir name “Murray”. Adam dedicated all his time to create his emotionally mind blowing masterpiece titled “Photo Album” which he personally wrote, produced, mixed, mastered, and distributed through his production company Murray Productions. Every song composed in “Photo Album” is poetic and tells a story of his past, present, and future. Murray’s release of “Photo Album” rapidly grew a strong underground following and created interests with certain independent record labels. Not willing to conform to the mainstream sound Murray decided to continue on his own.
Recently Murray Productions opened a professional recording studio located in Mesa, AZ. and created the Independent Record Label “Strong ARMed Entertainment”. Strong ARMed Entertainment currently has 2 artists under contract with a third solo artists joining the family in June.
Adam & Alisha were married in elegant fashion and were blessed in May of 2007 with the gift of their son Sean Michael.
