I hate these things!! You don't want to know about me anyways. Someone figure something out for me, I don't want to think about it! Easily entertained, yet bored easily. Short on time, but good at wasting it. Work to much, yet do nothing really.
Sep 15th, crashed on the race track. Got intimately familiar with a tire wall and a plastic 55 gallon drum full of water. Left arm didn't much care for the "play date".
Sep 21st, Surgery to put a plate and six screws in my left arm. From now on I will try my best to keep it away from tires and barrels of water!
Sep 27th, Second surgery on arm due to possible nerve damage during surgery....turns out there was a little damage due to the surgery.
Ok, fast forward to Nov 2nd. After what has been a hellacious experience, the arm is getting better. Infections, a hand that doesn't work and many many trips to the doctor's office or hospital (not to mention the cost of this whole thing). And now, I have an ingrown toenail...again!!
More updates, and a few months later.Jan 26th. I have a new job, an arm that works for the most part, a house that is almost done, and a little girl on the way. Of course she is scheduled to pop out on Memorial day...right in the middle of track season. Maybe it is a sign to put the bikes away? No, that can't be it. As of right now her name is going to be Elise Marie...but that could change yet.
Well, it has been a few months..so I might as well do an update. We are now in April, with not all that long until I have a little one at home. She is supposed to pop out around May 31st. Hopefully she stays put until then!
As far as track riding goes, I have been out once this season. I took a road trip to Barber Motorsports Park in Alabama. Beautiful weather, good friends and a new to me bike is what I had going for me. The only problem is that the new to me bike doesn't seem to like me much. After fighting set up issues all morning, I though I found something that was going to work. It did, until I screwed up a corner and rode off track. Long story short, to keep everyone else safe I laid the bike down in the grass. Ended up breaking a clutch lever (that no one had a spare for..even the local dealer), and cracking a rib. I tell you, Barber seems to not like me much! This season has also seen a change to the bikes I have. Previously I have had two Kawasaki's. They are/were great bikes. But over the winter I found a great deal on a Ducati 996. After purchasing that (and crashing it at Barber), I decided that 3 bikes are to many. I started looking at trading my Kawi's in on a new 1098 Ducati (or better yet an 848), but there just wasn't a smoking deal out there for me. I then happened across another 996. I ended up trading in my 2006 ZX10R for this very mint and low mile 2001 996. I then found someone who was interested in purchasing my 2007 ZX6R outright...and soon the last of my inline 4's were gone. I do miss the straightforwardness of a Japanese bike, as the Italians just do some things in a backwards way. But I now have two bikes that will not drop in value, and have a timeless style. I guess now I am going to have to think of a new screen name!
