Right now I am really into photography. Well, I have been for a long time--since I was about seven years old. But lately I have been doing a lot more of it. I used to be really into sports, but haven't really been able to play since I blew out my knee. One of my other passions is music. I sing and dance and play a few instruments. I am really into the local music scene and I LOVE to go to concerts.
Ummm...people?
I am just a fan of music in general. I listen to everything, really. I think if you don't appreciate music in every form, you don't appreciate music at all. And I do.
I love to watch movies (I'd rather be IN them, but hey--this works for now--LOL) I just don't like scary movies (unless there's a guy with me)--I'm a big whimp.... :P Mostly action and comedies...
I like TLC (I'm such a nerd). My favorite show ever is Alias. I also like SOME stuff on MTV and VH1. Spike TV (CSI!!!) is cool and so is some of Adult Swim. My all-time favorite, though, is Comedy Central. This is, of course when I have the time....As you can see, I MAKE time...hahaha
So I'm caught up on the Twilight books and I LOVED them!! Now I'm reading "The Host" and "Crank". Both very good so far...
My heros, eh? Well, here's the rundown:
Mom--You are my hero for sacrificing so much for TJ and Candace and me. You gave up your life so that you could make ours better. You had to be both mom and dad. When strong winds blew, you did everything in you power and more to shelter us from the storm. You did everything you could to keep the world's ugliness from effecting us negatively and always found and showed us silver lining in grey clouds. I love you and there is no way I could ever thank you enough or repay you for what you have done.
Grandpa--You are my hero for being "dad" when mine wasn't willing. You taught me how to ride a bike, catch bugs and snakes, hike, camp, make a fire, be tough, throw a ball, carve soap, take pictures, tie my shoes, and plant a garden. You taught me that "things" aren't important - my focus should be on my relationships with other people, creating memories and getting a good education. Thank you for all you have done. I love you so much!
Grandma--You are my hero because you taught me how to be a girl while grandpa taught me how not to be (hahahaha). You taught me how to sew, crochet, cross-stitch, and enjoy a good old fashioned tea party. I love you for that. Thanks for letting me play with your paper dolls!!
Candace--You are, of course, my little sister. I'm supposed to teach you everything about being a girl. Actually, I'm supposed to teach you EVERYTHING, aren't I? You are my hero for teaching me all of the small things in life that everyone should learn, but seldom actually do. From you, I learned to laugh when I should cry, to smile when I'm angry, to forgive easily, to "be soft", to sing in the shower, to be patient when I'm hurried, to "let it simmer!!", and to hug people I don't even know. I love you, babe!!
TJ--You are my hero for taking it like a man when you were too young to understand. Through all the crap, you were not only my big brother, but also my shoulder and listening ear. We were each other's sanity. You learned everything the hard way and saved me from having to do so (in some situations) because I learned from you. You went through the "tough stuff" and came out still standing (most of the time). Thank you for being strong and sorry if there was ever a time when I wasn't strong enough. I love you--hang in there.
And Finally
Dad--I know that you had a rough life too...You were young and probably not ready to be a dad, so in a way you chose not to be. I forgive you for not being there when we were little. You are my hero now because you didn't completely give up. I never gave up on you, either, Dad. Thank you for doing your best to change. Thank you for being a Dad now. Thank you for helping me out when I have no where else to turn. Thank you for listening. I have learned from you that people can change--you just have to give them a chance. I love you dad.
