Here Lies Martha's humble start began in an old dank basement, in an
old dank town in Utah. It all started with guitarists Seth Bonnell and Riley Carpenter
having day long jam sessions of playing and writing. Their dream is to begin a band
with several styles and influences. An infused mix of metal, hardcore and rock. For
their dream to be realized they searched for more members willing to take a jam
band to the next level. Bassist Cole Kovatch is added to the roster while attending
a rehersal. And after a year long shuffle of drummers, the young Eric Nish adds
another piece to the puzzle. Starting off as manager and moving his way to full
blown member is the more recent addition and long time friend, keyboardist,
Garrett "Chainsaw" fCurtis. The name, for those of you who are curious, was taken
from a halloween prop found in their old practice loft. Thinking that their other
options fell a bit short, the name Here Lies Martha is chosen and the legacy began.
To discribe HLM, One would rather take you to a show instead of using
petty phrases. They not only play shows, but they are performers at heart. Showing
no mercy for their own bodies, Here Lies Martha displays an act of violence mixed
with a spice of childish playfulness. Great to watch, an orgasm to listen to and a
roundhouse kick to the groin experience.
