I have a very eclectic taste in muscic. I would like to go on the road as the spiritual advisor for the Polyphonic Spree. ---My current obsession is Argentine Tango dance/music. ---I have a piano in my house that I need to learn how to play. Do you know any patient piano instructors for an adult slow-to-learn beginner? My goal is to learn all the songs in my newly purchased, "It's Easy to Play Burt Bacharach."
I hardly get to the cinema anymore. I love Bill Murray, especially in the movie "Rushmore" and my all-time favorite films are all the early flicks by Woody Allen, "Some like it Hot," and "Harold and Maude."
TV - so many options with cable, but so few worth my time. The exceptions being: "Project Runway," "Whose Line is it Anyway?" (on the BBC), "House" (why do I find Hugh Laurie so sexy?), and I never tire of the "Simpsons."
"A Team of Rivals - The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln" by Doris Kearns Goodwin. I want to be Abe's lover in my afterlife. ---Ten favorites: 1) Skinny Legs and All, Tom Robbins 2) In Cold Blood, Truman Copote 3)Frankenstein, Mary Shelly, 4) Middlesex, Jeffery Eugenides 5) While I was Gone, Sue Miller 6) Lamb, Christopher Moore 7) Prayer for Owen Meany, John Irving 8) Endurance: Shakleton's Incredible Voyage, Alfred Lansing 9)Disobediance, Jane Hamilton 10)To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee. ---It's difficult to select only ten, but all these books kept me up past my bedtime.
Abe, Ghandi, FDR, MLK, and my Dad. ---Heroines: All my sisters, especially those sisters serving to protect our democracy and planet. Thank you Barbara Boxer and Diane Feinstein! --- I love Mae West, that's her quip about resisting temptation.
