Aw-right.

About Me

Only child born in Nanaimo, Canada. Have lived in Nanaimo, Jamaica, Lantzville, France, Ottawa, Brooklyn, San Diego and Orange County. Attended Carelton "Last Chance U" University, Algonquin College, and the University of San Diego. Was Archivist at the New York Transit Museum. Have a Master's degree in Public History. Work in the sometimes depressing field of Historic Preservation. Love old buildings. Play bass in an awesome rocknroll band called Nautical Disaster. At the Casbah in San Diego, have played in bands opening for the The Greenhornes, The Demolition Doll Rods, The Hold Steady, The Willowz, Dressy Bessy, the Muffs, Cougars, The Jessica Fletchers, Bunky and others. My cats are named Rosie and Hank. Best friends are Cara and Marnie. Spent the past three years helping to save the Exotic World Burlesque Museum from impending doom. Met a lot of cool and interesting people as a result. Things I am most proud of: being quoted as a legitimate historian in the LA Times; winning a history-writing award on San Diego's Hollywood Burlesque Theatre and getting my article(s) published; being the leading authority on the Hollywood Theatre. Some of the coolest places I've ever been: inside Liz Rennay's house; the Liberace Museum; Exotic World; Salvation Mountain; Jackson Heights, Queens. Likes: rock n' roll; getting paid to explore abandonned old building; crazy architecture; weird museums and offbeat places; bowling.
