....
If you know me you already know what you need to know. If you don't then what you need to know is that "All the worlds a stage"! I perform in theatre, film, and tv and one day I hope to be bigger than Oprah.
No but really, I have a love for life and especially the Arts. I pretty much live breath and sleep it. I have not only performed but have choreographed, designed, directed, and produced. On my to do list is writing my first play. I have already written the first act and soon will have a finished piece.
Will I ever have grand success with my name in lights? Who knows...I don't care really as long as I can support my family and do what I love to do every day til I die. Then it has all been worthed it.

LaSharon the Mom
I'm the proud parent of a strapping young and handsome boy. Dominique...12 yrs old, part Sicilian is my pride and joy. Most people would say he is a well adjusted child, who wants for nothing even though he has only one parent. Truth be told he has more than one, with grandparents and aunts and uncles providing him with all the love and guidance he needs.
I don't feel like a mom or treat him in the typical parent to child fashion. I'm raising him a little different. Well...he is being raised differently than I was. He has some choices and freedoms in what he does in life. I'm not the one to tell him what to do, but guide him along to make the right choices.

LaSharon the Military Chick
I did my time and served for my country. I was a Navy Corpsman for 4 yrs. I was stationed at Balboa Hospital, Camp Pendleton, and Long Beach Naval Shipping Yard. In that time, I had the honor of being the first woman to serve at Camp Pendleton Brig Medical. Although my military career was short lived (due to medical reasons) I would do it all again in a heart beat. I believe every true blue American should do their duty to serve and defend their country in any way they possible can.
LaSharon...The High School Years
"I pledge my heart to brown and gold...the colors of the hills and sun! As people we are many, but as Wildcats we are one. Our pride for you is deep within...our spirit wild and free.....blah blah blah....El Camino Wildcats forever we will be!"
That was so long ago, but high school still is a memorable part of my life. You couldn't say I was the most popular, but you could say I was known by all. My main activity was JROTC. This was the start of what would be come of my military career. Yes...spending afternoon drilling on the grinder, carrying flags. You would have thought I had nothing better to do with my tome. But in all fairness...I loved every minute of it. I had some wonderful friends and got to do some traveling.
But JROTC wasn't just my thing. I was into sports and not just the BOYS. I was very involved in the athletic department, helping out as a student trainer. Whether it was football, baseball, basketball or track and field you would always find me close by. Also HAVV...that's right DOC...Human Against Verbal Violence....whoa what were we thinking, but I am a better person for it.
Perhaps it was for the boys...at least a special few and THEY KNOW WHO THEY ARE.
But all my craziness paid off...I was the Spirit Cat of 1991 and voted Most Spirited for the Class of 1992.
Would I have changed anything? Not one bit...except tried to get with a certain guy or two (LOL).
A shot out to my homies who knew me as CHAKA...the name still lives on.
LaSharon...The Junior College Years
Wow...unexpectedly I decided to take one course at JC. One course lead to two and the next thing you know I have an Associates in Arts and an Associates in Science. I returned to school 3 years after being out the military. This was primaryly to learn about the business (TV and Film). I was just going to take a course on Television Production. I was already working for a small production company and just wanted some academic knowledge. I got more than that. In the end, I ended up anchoring, directing, editing, and producing a local news and magazine show (The Inland Valley News and Inland Valley Magazine). Funny enough, I returned to work for the military, as a civilian. I did some regular work with the Armed Forces Radio and Television Broadcast Center at March Air Force Base. This was a great experience on how the military handles their broadcasting around the world.
In addition to TV and Film Production, I found myself in the Dance, Music and Theatre department. I figured this would be to brush up my skills as an actor. I was able to perform, but also choreograph and do video productions within each department. After two and half years I had enough credit to transfer to a four-year university...so i did.
RCC was the opening door to get me out of the States. I was asked to be apart of the California Global Classroom Project (formed by Gov. Gray Davis). A small group of students to go to Singapore and Brunei to meet with education officials and to take part in the APEC Convention. Let me tell you the Sultan of Brunei has a sweet pad, but his first wife should stay away from the karaoke machine.
By the way...I meet the second love of my life here at RCC, but that's another story.
LaSharon...The Undergraduate Years
Right before I was to transfer into UCR, I was declared as an English Major. The funny thing was I had zero English transferable credits. If you read my transcript, you would have been lead to believe that I was either a Dance, Film, Music or Theatre major. So logically, I declared myself as an Theatre Major. Now...UCR wasn't quite ready for me. I had my head full of ideas and was ready to do something with them. Luckily, my department was sort of accomidating. They gave me every opportunity to perform and participate in the design process (mostly visual design for stage).
Here I really got involved with the International Service Center. They handle student studying abroad, as well as, International students. I did a one year abroad program in Italy. This was the beginning of my Minor in Italian. It also lead to a job with the department for a few years.
My other involvments were with the African Student Programs, Katipunan (Philipino Student Group), Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Theta Sigma, and the Student Union Early Outreach Programs. I was also the Founding President for Beta Theta Chapter for Phi Beta a performing arts fraternity.
With all of this...you're probably wondering when I had time to study? With all of my involvement, they awarded me with the Student Award..."Woman Who Makes A Difference Award", amongst several other awards for various departments. In the end, I pulled off a successful Senior Thesis (fully student produced play) and found the funds and location to do it. I graduated happily with honors...Cum Laude.
LaSharon...The Post-Grad Years
Well after graduation, I eagerly awaited acceptance for a graduate program. I was accepted into two out of three that I applied for. One to Bond University, in Australia, doing a MFA in Film. The other at University of New South Wales, MA in Theatre. Well...off to Sydney I went. Life hasn't been too exciting here. Ok....that's not true. Between spotting kangaroos and koalas, I am known as the American Karaoke Queen here. My other claim to fame is being the Sydney Swans huge American supporter (I haven't missed one home game or function...perhaps it because the boys are just too hot).
My studies here have been quite serious. All theory and an interesting view into the Australian way of life.
As of now, I am still here doing a Graduate Diploma in Applied Linguistics and will shortly begin my MDM (Master of Digital Media).

So my friend and sponsored player of the month is Adam Schnieder. 2007 Season is about to kick off and Adam is out for the beginning of the season. Oh well, the Swans will have to suck it up and make due without him. Adam will make every effort to get back into the game. So don't fret he will be back soon!
