bhang lassis, the sun, fancy dress, scruffy men with beards, eastern religions, hanging out in hammocks, reading anything I can get my hands on, singing along to music ... badly, sushi, playing HiJack, hammer pants, rare steaks, rave, gin and tonics. My new latest past time is going to musicals the last 3 or 4 months I've been averaging about 2 a month and I love it.
I'd like to go drinking with Oliver Reed and Shane McGowan.
Ok so I've found an afternoon where I'm bored enough to fill this in, like most people I like a real mixed bag of stuff from electronic music, shameless pop and some other stuff in between the people who pop into my mind right now are:The mighty Take That who I love, I went to see them this year and still remember loads of my playground dance routines. The Streets, Lily Allen, Placebo, Muse, Blur, Adam Freeland, The Pogues, Dave Clarke, Daft Punk, Elton John, Madonna (though I think she's well past it now I'll always love her old stuff), Massive Attack, Kings of Leon, Ocean Colour Scene, The Proclaimers (they always make me smile and Letter From America was the first single I bought), Richie Hawtin, Roni Size, Sven Vath, Kasabian, DJ Shadow, Gnarls Barkley, Prince, Beach Boys (Pet Sounds is one of my all time favourite albums), Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I have a healthy collection of film soundtracks which is probably the music I listen to the most.
Anything with Audrey Hepburn or James Stuart in - especially Breakfast at Tiffany's and It's A Wonderful Life.Anything starring either Jake Gyllenhaal or Gael Garcia Bernal.Japanese extreme cinema.Arty european films. Horror movies and B-Movies in general. 80s trash - love The Goonies, Back to the Future 1&2, Ferris Buellers Day Off, Stand By Me, License to Drive etc. Also really like off the wall David Lynch style stuff.
Documentaries about the planet, or modern science, annoying American stuff aimed at women like Desperate Housewives, Sex and The City, The OC etc.Anything with Simon Amstell who used to present Popworld and is a comedy Genius. Those bits on channel 4 where people answer questions .. but what's the question hmmmm.Otherwise I try to avoid telly like the plague and just watch films whenever possible.
At the moment I am mostly loving stuff by - Gabriel Garcia Marquez, David Mitchell, JT LeRoy, Chuck Palahniuk, Aldous Huxley, Will Self and Herman Hesse. My favourite poet is Robert Frost.
