About Me
Rising phoenix-like from the ashes of bands such as: The Amazing Dog & Pony Show, Blue-Jay Shaman, Turning Wheel, Twice Removed, Thunder Perfect, One Block South & Colossal Man; Large Mammal has evolved a sound that is both familiar yet unique in the bloated world of rock & roll. Just to show the life forms of the planet earth that they are indeed at the top of the food chain. Large Mammal has released their first c.d. titled DIVINE, a 9-song melange of soulful lyrics, catchy hooks, and crankin guitar riffs. It is right and good that they should do this. Large Mammal consisting of: Notorious B.L.T. on guitar & backing vocals, Jesus a.k.a. Scootch Cootie on guitar, Kingvie Valvestem on bass, T-2-tha-C-double-L-M-P kicks it hard on drums and percussion, and the Right Rev. Min-T-Phresh rounds it out as vocal ringmaster and frontman extraordinaire. Together they are truly more than the sum of their warm-blooded parts. Notorious B.L.T. (Jerry Setti) a member of several secret societies, is hard livin, hard rockin, enigma. Wrapped in a riddle and basted in mystery he continues to confound his critics with new and powerful ways to make his guitar squeal and bark, while cultivating a keen sense of the culinary arts. Sharp and tenacious as a pit-bull, B.L.T. rips his Strat-o-caster a new asshole every time he picks it up to play. Less than saintly, but more than human is Jesus (John Nelson). Pronounced hey-zeus, he strolls the I-75 corridor looking for souls to save, and hearts to mend. With his understated guitar playing he commandeers an audience and brings them to their knees, begging for just one more sonic wafer. Can he walk on water? No. Can he change water into wine? With the proper ingredients and time, yes. A miracle worker, you ask? Maybe, because what he does with his Fender creates apostles of us all. Next on bass, is the newest mammal, Kingvie Valvestem (Mike King). Kickin it old-school, K.V. is a g-rappin, homie fizzle, dickin rhyme scholar. Stackin the dollas ta make alla da young girlz holla. A bassist since the tender age of 3, in his spare time he likes to teach macrame and is a 2 time world champion toad licker. Found living in a labyrinth of underwater caves in St. Petersburg, T-2-tha-C-double-L-M-P (Tom Campbell) is Large Mammal's Rythem Gawd. Also known as Chronos, the timekeeper, T.C. as he is affectionately called, kicks the beats and cleans the streets with jungle-esque passion that moves yer feet. Sorry about that. Anyhow, T.C. plays his trade with a finesse and grace that belie his 250+lb. stature that is until it's time to bring out the big guns. After that, the storm clouds gather and it's time for rolling thunder. Last but certainly not least , is the frontman, the Right Reverand Benjahmin T. Phresh (Steve Guthrie). Hailing from god knows where and headed back there soon for vacation, Min-T writes the songs, checks the mail, drives the van, and lifts the seat. In his spare time he is starting his own religion: The church of the Clear Light Of Infinite Truth,
