The New York Hamster House was founded in June 2005 by Jessica Wells and Kaiser Wilhelm the hamster as a shelter for homeless hamsters in the New York City area. We take in any hamsters who don't have homes, and we also adopt hamsters out to safe forever homes. The NYHH is located in Inwood (northern Manhattan), and is supported by gifts and donations (and by Jessica).

Kaiser Wilhelm, co-founder, died in June 2006 at the ripe old age of two years and ten months. He was a good hamster, and started a very good shelter for other hamsters. We love and miss you, Wilhelm!
