About Me

Plastic Yank write and perform intelligent music, spanning many different categories. Their songs are melodic and their lyrics are clever. Jeremy's song writing is inspired largely by where he is from, the Canadian prairies, and the angst of living in a place so different from there.

Plastic Yank are an alt-folk indie rock band fronted by Jeremy Hainsworth, a Canadian, with British boys Dave Hartup on drums, Vinnie Ison on keyboards and Andy Gill playing bass. In the early part of 2005 Jeremy, Andy, and Dave lived in Chorleywood and knew each other as friends when they realized they had the makings of a band and formed under the alias The Weather. Some songs were written, recorded and performed. Those who were in on the secret liked what they heard. A year later they added Vinnie on keyboard and became Plastic Yank. Since then they have played numerous shows in and around London.

Their recent five track EP, Descriptions and Pictures, is available to preview on myspace and other internet sites. It is available from the band members.
