About The Band
Painted Soul (REV 1:5)is a very unique, heavy yet melodic, metalcore band originating from the bowels of Washington. They are defined by their beat-driven, riff-laden songs that have been described as both "molten metal" and "mainstream hardcore". In their individual pursuits of obtaining a completely original blend of sounds that fit together as pieces to a puzzle, the music becomes something new. They are becoming well known in the Tacoma, as well as Seattle, music scene and are known for their energy and chemistry on-stage.
Guitarist Josh Tallent, bassist Anthony Morris, and turn-tablist DJ Reborn emerged from a former rap-core project to obtain Sean Brown on drums in early 2004. From there, the band evolved from a nu-metal ensamble with former vocalist Russ Osterfeld, to the final line-up today including vocalist Dann Sample, who was coincidentally in attendance at the first Painted Soul performance in a small basement in Aberdeen, WA. Approaching the first year as a cohesive unit, Painted Soul has taken the scene by storm, opening for such major label acts as Becoming The Archetype, Emery, Stutterfly, Project 86 and more. They have received airplay on various Seattle radio stations, such as KISW 99.9FM and Funky Monkey KFNK 104.9FM. Most recently, "Bloody Hands" was featured as the "4:20 Hit of the Day" on the Raizin & Kennedy Show on KFNK. The band is currently touring the northwest regularly and building a fanbase of new friends and family.
Painted Soul has two previous EP releases, but is currently putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming LP entitled "The Threshing Floor". This release, slated for May of 2007, will showcase a focused sound that the band has worked to achieve, along with a surprise producer that will make this album sound like nothing you've heard from them before. Painted Soul has been ordained to carry out a mission, and nothing will stop them until the message of truth through music has reached fans all over the world.
