Hmmm...."me" cannot be summed up in one paragraph but I'll try!Creative, passionate, focused when I want to be, witty and charming....just a few words that would describe me.41 yrs old- YES THAT IS CORRECT- and proud of it!
Born in Philadelphia, grew up in Oakland and now LA is the place I call home. Born to a teenage mother who struggled to keep shoes on my feet and an absentee father who broke my mom's heart. Raised by a family who to this day gives me nothing but unconditional love no matter what I do!I am not perfect....nor do I strive to achieve something that cannot be attained (perfection). We all come with flaws...and as Mary J belts out- "take me as I am or have nothing at all" In order to truly know me- you must understand my journey. All that I've been through, the mistakes I've made, the challenges I've faced, the disappointments I've had, the hurts I've caused- all those experiences have helped shape & mold me into the woman I am becoming. I have not always been the perfect daughter, the best friend or girlfriend....but I am at a point in my life where I am striving to be a better individual every day.Almost 7 years ago I moved to LA to pursue a career in music. My group had a record deal on the table, very little money in our pockets and no plan B in case the deal didn't work out. Lo and behold the deal fell through! My singing partner moved back to the Bay and I made a decision to stick it out. My story is no different than countless others who move here with big dreams and stars in thier eyes. Living in LA has had it's challenges- it was not easy at all- I struggled. But through it all God showed me what I was made of- determined, strong & resilient. And I'd have it no other way. No longer having dreams of being the next recording star but the passion will always be there. Occassionally I write hooks & do vocals with some local producers and would love to continue to do so.I've always enjoyed the creative process of writing songs and now I've taken that and re-focused my creativity into writing fiction & poetry. Currently I'm working on my first book of poetry and it's in the works to have it published real soon.From the outside looking in my life may not look like much to some but it's my life and I love it! When I'm not at work I'm writing, writing and writing. And when I'm not writing I'm spending time with my friends or traveling. (just recently traveled to Hawaii & Mazatlan) Truly I feel as if my life is just beginning....and I plan on savoring each moment. Each day that we're given is one that we'll never get back-so you must enjoy every moment you have. I know that I am- and I plan on becoming the hottest 41 year old besides Halle Berry and Janet Jackson that is! WATCH OUT!Welcome to my world.......
