SACRILEGE GBG

SACRILEGE was formed in 1993 by DANIEL SVENSSON (IN FLAMES)-vocals, drums and DANIEL DINSDALE-guitar. To complete the quest for the perfect balance between sheer brutality and beautiful harmonies they added RICHARD BERGHOLTZ-guitar and DANIEL KVIST (TAETRE) on the bass. SACRILEGE recorded their first demo "To Where Light Cant Reach" in early -95. Shortly after, the band entered Studio Fredman to record their second and last demo called "...and Autumn Failed". It led SACRILEGE to a deal with Black Sun Records. In the summer of 1996 they recorded their full-length debut "LOST IN THE BEAUTY YOU SLAY" in Studio Fredman. The album was released in October the same year. "LOST IN THE BEAUTY YOU SLAY" gained SACRILEGE loads of fans around the world with their great songs and beautiful melodies mixed with the darkest possible riffings and weird guitar obsceneties. An extra touch was added by DANIEL SVENSSON'S extremely low and high vocal style. A year later SACRILEGE had grown both as songwriters and musicians and in July -97 they recorded their second album "THE FIFTH SEASON", a far more technichal, heavy, brutal, faster and better album. Once again they received great reviews all over the world! In January SACRILEGE went on a German tour together with THE CROWN. On this tour Tompa of At the Gates did the vocals for SACRILEGE as SVENSSON had some difficulties with both singing and playing the drums at the same time.. Shortly after the tour SVENSSON helped IN FLAMES's songwriter/guitarplayer JESPER STRÖMBLAD by doing the vocals for a song JESPER recorded with his project DIMENSION ZERO. This contact led to SVENSSON being offered to play the drums for IN FLAMES! He understandably accepted. This of course was a great setback for SACRILEGE since they now had to find both a new drummer and a singer. After more than year of searching and trying different drummers, whithout getting the old feel, the band decided to quit! So this was the end of one of the greatest melodic death bands ever...or was it really?!?!? IT HAS TRUELY BEEN A DARK WAIT, BUT THE TIME HAS FINALLY COME FOR A 3:RD ALBUM FROM THIS LEGENDARY BAND. UNDER THE NEW FLAG OF "SACRILEGE GBG" THEY ARE BOUND TO PROVE ONCE AGAIN HOW TO MAKE THE GENRE OF MELODIC GBG DEATH INTERRESTING AGAIN. SACRILEGE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING HARD ON NEW MATERIAL FOR AN UPCOMING HAILSTORM OF QUALITY MELODIES, HARMONIES AND PURE OL' BAD ASS BRUTALITY It will feature the original line-up with SVENSSON (IN-FLAMES), D.DINSDALE, R.BERGHOLTZ and D.KVIST (TAETRE).
