Stringa Inc. More than meets the eye!

About Me

Stringa first got into Electronic music way back in 1995. By 1999 he was in various clubs around the Triangle of NC nearly 3 nights a week catching DJ sets from the likes of Phantom 45, Dieselboy, Ming & FS, Bad Boy Bill, and various local DJ's. After moving to back to Boone, NC in 2000 he dropped out of the club scene for awhile. Stringa was a nickname given by a friend before he ever owned decks. On Febuary 10th 2003 he got his decks, 2 Technics 1200 Mk3's and a Vestax PMC-17A, and bought about half a crate of Drum & Bass. Slowly he taught himself how to mix and accumulated more records. In the summer of 2004 he bought his first batch of trance records. In May of 2005 he passed 2 mix cd's off to a friend. Tryptocon(Drum & Bass) and Trance-otron, the rest is history.....
Currently on the playlist
Chino-Syrianna vs. Chris Su-Scream at the Stars. Think jazzy meets pure darkenss.
Muffler-Embrace vs. Marcus Schulz-Somewhere. A little something i came up with one night while spinning. Still needs to be tweaked a pinch.
Adagio 4 Stringa, my signature mix off Trance-otron, the mix that started it all.
UrbanShakedown Punk! a wicked mix i did on my old Vestax PMC-17A
Got Back 2 U Lost. Trying to keep the balance.

Influences: In terms of people, 1st and foremost Adam Hoffstedler, he introduced me to electronic music. My friends Andrew Luck, Breckenridge, and Dave Stafford got me into spinning.
Musically Dieselboy, Andy C, and Ed Rush & Optical started it all for me. In more recent years Black Sun Empire, Teebee, Cyantific, London Electricity, Muffler, Chino, Basic Operations, State of Mind, Noisia, and Pendulum have shaped my sound.
Trance was a completely different odyssey. I started out listening to GOA and Psy. Mainly whatever floated my way. ALOT of DJ Hardware. It kind of wore on me and Drum & Bass became much more my thing. Then some where around 2001 I got turned on to Tiesto. I got back into trance thanks to Tiesto and Victor Dinaire's 4 hour show Resident Nation on cable and satellite. Armin van Buuren's 'A State of Trance' soon became a staple as well. In terms of influence on my style and sound Tiesto, Victor Dinaire, Armin Van Buuren, and Gabriel & Dresden are probably the biggest influences on me.
