FOUR NEW SONGS GRADUALLY APPEARING OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS!(2/5/06) - "Christmas Alone"ALSO: Blogs explaining my thoughts behind the lyrics coming soon.BIO: I was born and raised in Metamora, IL--a football town of 2,700 people in central Illinois. I played sports throughout my life and went to Northern Illinois University to play quarterback on a football scholarship in 2001. After four shoulder surgeries, and not one snap taken at the D1A level, sports are largely a thing of the past. I first picked up a guitar in February 06' and wrote my first song ("Eight Ball") in early April this same year. Since I have written 14 more and do not intend to slow down. I can play all my songs, but asked Joe Arcano to play for me on this first album (he has been playing since he was 9 years old). I am not actively trying to make a name for myself or make it big--I just love to write, sing, and play. This album is for me, my friends, and family...and for anyone else out there that might stumble upon it and enjoy the songs.Joe Arcano and I are recording out of a makeshift studio (two bedrooms and some humble sound equipment) in central Indiana where finished up my undergraduate work at Taylor University in Upland. Joe helped me write the music for some of my songs, is producing the album, and playing the guitar....all i do is write the songs and sing for now.In his bio at www.bobbypinson.com, Bobby writes, "My music is passionate and honest and is carved from pieces of my life. Not that everything is literally true, but the feelings are true, and the emotions and experiences are real, even if they're not mine. I put myself into the character of that small town guy who's made it out, or the one who hasn't." I feel the same way about my music and thank Mr. Pinson for his. More than anyone else, him and his album, "Man Like Me," influence my style, content, and approach to songwriting. I can't hang with Bobby, but try pretty hard in my own humble way.In these songs I hope to capture a little bit about what life is like for the honest conscience, particularly in a small farm town in the Mid-West--the long lost child of country music and culture (its not all in the South). I hope you'll appreciate some of my songs. As they are recorded, I hope to continually update my account page. Don't be afraid to let me know how they sound, and if they're worth a damn. Once again, I am a beginner, I don't have any grandiose perceptions of myself and my music....so you won't be crushing me if you're critical. Thanks for paying attention...and listening...as always, take care and God bless.PLEASE READ!: "Comfort (4-26-06)" is written by myself and Joe Arcano in memory of Betsy Smith, Laura VanRyn, Brad Larson, Laurel Erb, and Monica Felvor who died tragically on April 26, 2006. The song is dedicated to the friends and families of those who are gone, hoping that through the grief, hope and comfort will gradually emerge. We love you and continue to pray, as well as mourn your loss. Special thanks to Drew Fortson and Rebecca Roembke for your help with background vocals and ideas.
