About Me

You mean you want to put it into a pretty lil maxim for ya?!
Son of two hippies, north and south divide.Grew up around lots of musicians and and artisans. Raised on a healty diet of music and sugar... Teens were as blurry and wasteful as anyone elses, but I did start to home in on what I liked doing. 20's were rushed! I've only just gotten used to the idea, I've learned what I needed to know at 21, can I start over, please?! No such luck, but thanks for the concept H.G.
Yeah, 20's was the ride that went up and down and round and round, it had thrills and chills... I lost a lot but learnt so very much more, like the brutal honesty of truth... 29 now. Maybe I slow down and carefully develop all this creatively? I dig wisdom, but I don't claim it like some people try to...I've only ever sought wisdom, and sought to share it. Pass the peas, per say?
Love many, trust few... ALWAYS paddle yer own canoe...
'I'll try to be around and about. But if I'm not, then you know that I'm behind your eyelids, and I'll meet you there.'Kona, September 1999
A frown can't bring out the beauty that you are Love within and you'll begin smiling... There're brighter days ahead
Don't mess your face up with bitter tears 'Cause life is gonna be what it is It's okay, please don't delay from smiling... There're brighter days ahead
Thank yew fo smiling
'Of course we must keep up with the world in general, but we must also be sure not to make ourselves to comfortably a part of it. Modishness is the sign of the second rate. Ultimately we are not judged by how we fit into the world, but by our individual response to it...
ORSON WELLES
The most important thing to do in your life, is to not interfere with somebody else's life...· Drop out of school before your mind rots from exposure to our mediocre educational system. Forget about the Senior Prom and go to the library and educate yourself if you've got any guts. Some of you like Pep rallies and plastic robots who tell you what to read. Forget I mentioned it. This song has no message. Rise for the flag salute... Jazz is not dead, it just smells funny...
Information is not knowledge. Knowledge is not wisdom. Wisdom is not truth. Truth is not beauty. Beauty is not love. Love is not music. Music is THE BEST...
In 1958 I wrote the following: 'There are no hard distinctions between what is real and what is unreal, nor between what is true and what is false. A thing is not necessarily either true or false; it can be both true and false.' I believe that these assertions still make sense and do still apply to the exploration of reality through art. So as a writer I stand by them but as a citizen I cannot. As a citizen I must ask: What is true? What is false? Truth in art is forever elusive. You never quite find it but the search for it is compulsive. The search is clearly what drives the endeavour. The search is your task. More often than not you stumble upon the truth in the dark, colliding with it or just glimpsing an image or a shape which seems to correspond to the truth, often without realising that you have done so. But the real truth is that there never is any such thing as one truth to be found in dramatic art. There are many. These truths challenge each other, recoil from each other, reflect each other, ignore each other, tease each other, are blind to each other. Sometimes you feel you have the truth of a moment in your hand, then it slips through your fingers and is lost.

America... just a nation of two hundred million used car salesmen with all the money we need to buy guns and no qualms about killing anybody else in the world who tries to make us uncomfortable.

My Interests

GETCHA SHADES ON, PEEPS...
People interest me. Smokey bars, dark corners in clubs, look deeper than the surface and you'll see a whole world bubblin' at your feet, you take it from there! Walks, talks, impulse buys on the dancefloor, the excited tangles that follow... Smiles on the street. Food is big time for me. 2nd only to joint the 1st place of Aesthetics and sex. Italian, Indian, Thai, can do most of it myself, but dig the table banter. Stinky cheese, Vino, and Deli biznisss...

.. .. .. ..

I'd like to meet:

YEW DAWWWG!!!

Beauty isn't made up to be, she just is...

The King on the throne...

Music:

FUNK... Only if it's from the heart, I like music with feeling, funky, or bass enough to rupture my spleen.... ALL the Gumbo, Jazz, RnB, Blues, Soul, Latin/Samba/Afro Cuban... Plenty of Rhythmanings and 'Jotame.'I was Dj'in for fun for nigh on ten years, but am much more geared towards playing live now and somehow combining the two... There are some Great DJ's and Producers outside of the TONG, Radio One, (the same is true of live music), you just gotta look hard. Go with what you know and love. I dig groovers. With DJ's/Producers: MAW/Kenny Dope/Phil Asher/Giles Peterson/Norman Jay/Roy the Roach/West Coast House/French House/Fierce & Quarrentine... all thangs dirty & fonkeeeee! Ideally a live/Electronic band who can keep you dancin and smiling beyond 4/4... Inspiration Information is THE only Grooveschool to catch on a Fridaze night with Uncle Phlasher and Auntie Pat (Rememba Rebirth of coool?)

Movies:

Landscapes of the mind. Anything Orson Welles actually had a in with the final cut... Wim Wenders, the open shutter. Thunderbolt and lightfoot,Anything Jack from 67-80, Blade Runner, Docuflicks, Sweet Smell of Success (If you wanna know how the movers really shake it...)
Cary Grant, Fritz Lang, Russ Meyer: big ol titties with zero plot for the daze... well, ok, I'll say I have an achillies crotch for 60's-70's sexploitation movies, given my shadey intro at Frank Wanks Recording studios as a wee boyyyy...

Television:

Not very often...

Books:

I love all the books I never had to write... A book is a boys best friend. It feeds you, helps shape your opinions, never answers back, and is always there when you need it. But to reel off but a few... Hunter S Thompson and Ralph Steadman, Bernard Shaw, Gore Vidal, Chomsky, Shakespeare, Marlowe, Pinter, Some Beat stuff, GONZO, O'rourke, Oriana Fallaci, Darwinian, Flann O'brien, Kafka, Stevenson, Dylan, Fitzgerald's letters,Tennessee Williams, Norman Mailer, Dawkins and the sane crew, Chris Lasch, Ridley Walker, Anthony Burgesssss, FZ, Biographies, History, Myooosak
'Of course there are still great writers, there are just no more great READERS...' GV.

Heroes:

A guys influenced by hundereds of things. I think what I dig most about my hero's is the strength of their convictions. they didn't need approval to let it all hang down, they looked inside for answers that the external world would never be brave or honest enough to enlightenten them with... whether they liked the outcome or not! Bizarre disciplines are the benchmark of learning... only then can one be consumate, liberated, and ultimately unhinged...
