The Riff Rats are Dead. Long live the Riff Rats. Frank and Colin are now known as Tank Black. You can find out more at the appropriate myspace page in our top friends.
The Riff Rats played their first gig as a three piece on May 10 2005 at Arc cafe in Dunedin where they formed. That line up was Franko Eggleton (guitar), Colin Andrews (guitar) and Iso12 (synth & drum machine). Their second gig a month later featured the same lineup but Pete McCartney on drums, that pretty much set the bench mark for the next 2 and a half years, they have never done more than a handful of shows with exactly the same line up...
Eggleton and Andrews still play guitars and now share the vocals, they are the only ones to have played all 40+ gigs which has seen them play with 6 different drummers 2 bass players, a trumpet player, a thearemin player and a synth/vocalist...
In those gigs they have played with: Die! Die! Die! The Mint Chicks, So So Modern, Actor Slash Model, The Alps of New South Wales, Frase and Bri, Haunted Love, Operation Rolling Thunder, Onanon, The Lovehaters, The Situations, Knife Fight, Volcana, Zombie? Fuck, Collapsing Cities, Thought Creature, the Wind Ups, The Futurians, Anji Sami, Death Rattle and Soul Seller.
They had a track selected for the 2006 Radio One sampler, played a live to air, been playlisted on Radio Active, made a video which was played on Alt TV, podcast on French radio,
etc hopefully more showing off later..... or not. It doesn’t matter.
Have a day!
