Formed in 1997, YB is now Korea’s indisputable 1 rock band. YB has released 7 studio albums, 2 live albums and also a solo album from vocalist D.H. The band’s latest studio release is “Why Be?†(2006) and together their albums have sold more than 2 million copies in Korea (note. 100,000 copies is “platinum†in Korea). The band is made up of four cool guys out of Seoul, Korea; vocalist – D.H., guitar – Baby J, bass – Tay, and drummer – Jin. YB plays over 100 live concerts each year. However, despite the band’s hectic and busy schedule, they have managed to make a musical movie called, “Jungle Story,†and have filmed a documentary entitled, “On the Road 2,†which was filmed during their European Tour. In 1997, the band filmed a musical called, “Gae Ddong Ih,†and in 2000 starred in the hit musical, “Jesus Christ Superstar.†Furthermore, YB played and performed in the famed musical, “Hard Rock Café.†Vocalist Yoon Do-Hyun (D.H.) has been the host of “Love Letter,†a music show on KBS TV for over three years of which he has received numerous awards. Currently, “Love Letter†is the most popular live music television show in Korea shown weekly to viewers nationwide. YB has received the award for Best Artist of the Year from all three of Korea’s main broadcasting stations, KBS, MBC, and SBS, and won the WPMA (World Peace Music Award) in 2003 for their activities in promoting human rights. In early 2005, YB became the first Korean band to ever tour Europe and in November 2006 played two sold-out concerts in New York (Nokia Theater and B.B. King Blues Club). YB was invited to perform at SXSW (South by Southwest) held in Austin, Texas in March 2007.2008. YB has solidified its position as one of the top Asian rock bands ever. Yet, YB will not give up its dream of becoming one of the best rock bands in the US and around the world. Only God knows what will happen, but YB is dedicated to good music, and most of all are free spirits that just want to have FUN!!!
