I am here for Friends and Networking

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

local rockers, tourguides, people who buy rock n' roll art

Music:

The HI NOBLES obviously! some other favorites: the kinks, the ramones, the stooges, mc5, the velvet underground, the new york dolls, tom waits, the talking heads, david bowie, blondie, the pixies...the priests (from rochester NY, check 'em out) newer bands: The everyothers (brooklyn), modest mouse, le tigre, the liars, the sahara hotnights, the sounds, electric eel shock, queens of the stoneage, mars volta, mooney suzuki, more to come...

Movies:

ex-film major, too many to count...see television- I'm a sucker for anything with a plot, even a premise. My top five in no particular order: Man with a Movie Camera, Pillow Book, Crouching Tiger, Run Lola Run, Waiting for Guffman.

Television:

I am a television slave. I can find something valuable in just about any garbage on the boob tube. I've happily avoided it for long durations, but find myself continuously battling that urge to "study" the way folks have put together the blinking lights and colors that keep us so entranced. I tell myself it's a social experiment, that I'm not part of the masses.

Books:

A few years ago I decided to catch up on my classics. Define classics however you want, I started with Homer's Odyssey. Now I'm reading Gulliver's Travels. I have a tendency to prefer novels. I became sort of addicted to books when I gave up television. let's see, top five authors in no particular order: Ken Kesey, Tom Robbins, Hunter Thompson, Albert Sweitzer, Maxine Hong Kingston...Books: The Mahabharata, books about Hinduism, any asian culture/religion/history/fiction/art books, anything on DuChamp, film, photography, grammar, diy, maps, atlases, foreign language dictionaries, encyclopedias, I'm kind of a big geek about books, and I like to learn about stuff, so I have many favorites...top five subject to change at any time

Heroes:

Definitely Schweitzer, Thompson, DuChamp,...
