Corbie is Afraid of the Bear

Fear and Loathing east of I-95.

About Me

My name is Corbie, and it's nice to meet you.

My psychedelic funk rock band ("frunk" for short) is named Million Dollar Sunset .
My ambient lounge/free jazz/post rock band is named Awesome Heroes .
My minimalist solo project is named Where the Buffalo Roamed .
My Asheville band, another minimalist act but with a more orchestral hard core edge, is named Migrations . We still play out every few months.
I used to be in a band named Spy Satellite , with my good friend Andy.
I played a few shows with Richard & Homeless , but we never named the band.
I help book and promote at a place named 21 Eleven beer & wine.

My Interests

Teaching a bear to speak english.
Teaching a dog to speak english.
Teaching a peregrine falcon to sing madrigals.

Television:

You know, it's just a medium. It's only as good or as crappy as the artist behind it. I've recently started seeing some good uses of it.

of note: Battlestar Galactica (the new one). Is this the shit, or what? also: the Colbert Report, any Star Trek that doesn't have Scott Bakula in it, Futurama, Firefly, most adult swim.

Books:

Vonnegut
Dee Brown
Hunter S. Thompson
Orson Scott Card (pre-Empire)
Frank Herbert
Stephen Hawking
Steinbeck
others...

Heroes:

any band/musician I've ever shared the stage with or helped with a show.
