About Me

Im currently resident and co owner of a new night thats running in and around Sheffield called CARGO. Its a night thats on the crest of a new wave of electronic music and is fully supporting the minimal adverse sounds that are creeping into the clubs at present. Personally I've been DJing for around four years but didn't start off folowing minimal music. I first started playing techno and electro and my main inspirations were Sven Vath and Richie Hawtin. I played techno for quite a while but over the years it rapidly changed and got alot more electric and less rapid. At first I took to the change and then decided to take a step back and appreciate the more moody slower side of underground techno (Minimal). As this style of music evolved it grew on me and becomes the main style of music that I currently play. I still appreciate electro and techno and will always try an d keep my eye out for fresh sounds that can be implemented into my sets. Im always trying to keep up with the technology surrounding DJing but at a certain point it gets really expensive. Ive got a lot of time for DJs who are trying to push the boundaries of their sets by using new ways of creating live sounds and effects. Richie Hawting is the king when it comes to this aspect of DJing and I will always try to make it to any of his gigs in the UK if its not too far a field. Club wise, Circoloco @ DC10 is by far the most energetic, atmospheric night in the world yet its currently still keeping the underground feel to the night and obviously Cocoon @ Amnesia afterwards is still the slickest, coolest night on Ibiza. Back in Englnd my favourite safe havens are Fabric in London, Tribal Sessions or any underground night @ Sankeys in Manchester and the four monthly Cocoon parties @ The End in London. If anyone is interested in CARGO or personal bookings please contact me through my myspace account or by email @ [email protected]

My Interests

Its all about the music!!!!Richie Hawtin, MAGDA and Troy Pierce Style! and then Ibiza! Apple computers are the future and will soon take over whats left of the world.

I'd like to meet:

Sven Vath, Richie Hawtin, Magda and all the Cocoon family. Also The Circo Loco crew, and how can we forget, Tony Wilson. Recently read a book called Smoke Screen which is highly recomended featuring a guy called Allen Long, would love to meet him, sounds like a legend!

Music:

Minimal all the way! But always appreciating good quality Techno, Electro, Downtempo, Experimental and anything electronic. Richie Hawtin, MAGDA, Troy Pierce, Luciano, Locodice & Ricardo Villalobos are soon to be kings of the electronic future of music along with the legend that is Nathan Fake and my favourite producer Mathew Jonson who is currently king of all things musical at present.
