Artist, Producer, Song Writer, Recording Engineer, Dee JayKooly Chat born and raised in Brooklyn NY, and of Panamanian descent is a Producer, Musician, and Recording Engineer. He began his music education at the age of six, when he first learned to play the piano which opened up a whole new world for him. Since then he has migrated onto the Drums, several African and Latin Percussion instruments, and the Steel Pan.His love and passion for the Reggae, Soca and Hip Hop cultures leaded him onto the path of being a Dee Jay, where after Juggling for various sound systems in Brooklyn he decided to form his own and called it King HeartBeat International. From his back ground of being a musician combined with his Dee Jay skills, Kooly Chat experimented with hit songs that were out, making his own remixes by sampling accapellas and even building his own riddims for the song. It was then when his production career began.Kooly attended QueensBorough College where he majored in Music Electronic Technology. After graduating he founded his own record company King HeartBeat Entertainment and recording studio King HeartBeat Sound Recording.Kooly Chat is also a recording artist of Caribbean music and still the owner and Selector /M.C. of the Brooklyn based deejay and mobile sound system company King HeartBeat International. Kooly has released his debut album titled "First Flight" which was produced and recorded by himself, which sold and is still selling internationally. His follow up was the Mix-Up Riddim which is the first soca compilation to come out of the camp featuring himself and various soca artist under the King HeartBeat Label. His most recent compilation 2 Hot Soca Riddims Features past & new additions to the label which displays the growth and musical advancement of the label. This compilation is beginning to achieve world wide recognition and is showing to be the most promising project that Kooly Chat has done.Kooly Chat has produced and written for artists such as Ziggy Rankin, Slumheroes, Naturalee, Red Fox, Screechie Dan, Shammi, Mad Stuntman (reel2reel), Faye-anne Lyons, Terri Lyons, etc..Kooly Chat is known for his style of blending the reggae dancehall with other genres such as Soca, Hip Hop, R&B, Rock and many other styles.
