OFTB: (Operation From The Bottom) is a group of male African American rappers from Watts, CA which contain Kevin "Flipside" White, Sammy "Bustop" Willaims, and Ronald "LowMB" Watkins. They grew up in Nickerson gardens project. They were signed to BigBeats Record were they released their only album Straight Up Watts in 1992 with the hit single Slangin Dope. Later on they were signed to Death Row records where they appeared on Above The Rim, Murder was the case, Gang Related, and Gridlocked. They left Death row in 1998. They formed their own record company by the name of Flatbroke Entertainment. The label folded after its first and only release called "The Return Of The West" which futured all the artists signed to Flatbroke Entertainment
Years went and came and the struggle was kept alive.Blackballed by Suge Knight from the prize. 10 years done went by since 2pac died , But it all seem like yesterday if you ask tha Flipside.Tha prophecy is alive , hip-hop in the Nickerson Gardens is on the rise . Flipside kept tha name around on the streets which is considered the underground wit the help of known artist such as, 2pac Shakur wit the lifetime shout "Got my Watts niggas wit me O.F.T.B " in the song "Live and Die in L.A" ,Snoop Dogg sending shout on his albums , who also help support the Suge Knight diss " I Swear to GOD" which was playing on 159 radio stations worldwide. Expressing his anger being stuck in the deathrow deal. The Legacy of O.F.T.B lives on through The New Record Label "Tha Payroll",wit artists like Flipside,Low.M.B, Young Street Damage,Maximo,Cornbred,Shorty Bang,Philthy Phil,J.Hicks,Pooksta.
