Dan Kanter is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, performer, and student. Growing up in Ottawa, Ontario, he studied piano, drums, bass, and guitar. Dan began playing clubs at the age of 15 as lead-guitarist in Hubris promoting their album "Blurred Visions."
At the age of 18, Dan wrote a full-length musical titled "Destiny: The Musical." Dan was the musical director and played keyboards and guitar for the performances. He also went on to record and produce the original cast recording.
Dan moved to Toronto in 2000 to study classical music at York University. The following year he began playing guitar and keyboard for Fefe Dobson. With Fefe, Dan toured internationally and recorded on her platinum selling debut album. Dan has appeared on numerous television shows including The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, Ellen Degeneres, Top Of The Pops, MTV TRL, and The Much Music Video Awards. Tour highlights include Lenny Kravitz, Janet Jackson, The Backstreet Boys, Avril Lavigne, The Barenaked Ladies, Maroon 5, Hilary Duff, Fall Out Boy, and Justin Timberlake's European tour.
Dan recently received his Undergraduate degree in music from York University in Toronto and is presently pursuing a Masters in Musicology at York University's Graduate school. He is currently writing, recording, and performing with several artists.
